Mastery Tokens

Can we just rename Mastery ranks 6 and 7 to "Consumer Level" instead?

It's virtually impossible to get the blue essence to use mastery tokens without buying chests and keys (I have seriously only seen one key fragment in dozens of games.) Even if you get 3 key fragments and a chest, you probably still aren't going to get a permanent to convert into blue essence. So you save up 3 shards and convert them into a permanent and convert that into a little bit of blue essence... three more times so you can "master" whichever random champion you already earned mastery tokens on.

Why does blue essence, chests, and keys have anything at all to do with mastering a champion? Why am I not allowed to use my tokens until I've paid real life money or played 800 million (obvious exaggeration, but maybe not obvious enough) games on random champions (doesn't even have to be on the champion you're trying to get mastery rank up on) just to bump up to rank 6 or 7 mastery?
