Should Flash be removed as a Summoner Spell; and made into a boot enchantment?

This is something I've been thinking about for a while.

is an ability that is just too useful. There's no reason not to use it. It covers a lot of champion weaknesses early on, a jungle gank that makes someone burn flash is often considered a success! I've seen a lot of kills from flash engage, which always feels cheesy...

I feel like making it a unique enchant would fix all this, Now If you want flash you have to spend the 475g to place it on your tier 2 boots. This eliminates early cheese play, and will force more champions to choose between utility and raw power!

High mobility champions will just be better while immobile ones will be worse. The game balance overall will be just too binary and will suffer because of it.

By giving everyone flash it all comes to player skills rather than champion design. Mind you, high mobility champs will be slighly better still but not horrendously by far as if you suggestion would be made live.

it's a combination of both to be honest. But the absence of Flash would greatly hurt the overall game system balance.

Let's say your main champion lacks escapes and/or gapclosers. You are against a high mobility or slippery champion and since there's no Flash in the game rather than a boot upgrade, then you will be 100% gankable and killable the moment you over extend your lane.

This would make the game too binary and a lot more frustrating without the tools to counter act against danger especially early in the game.

This of course will not be the case if you are using a high mobility champion such as Zed, LeBlanc, Ahri, etc. Hence making the rest of the immobile champions weaker by far during early game, in the process.

Maybe with this you will understand what I meant.

I never use flash, mobility or non mobility champion. Also non mobility champions generally have higher stats to make up for the lack of mobility. Try playing without flash and you might see why its not healthy for the game. When I say never use flash I mean never, in hundreds of games including ranked.

I salute you for your determination. But summoners are there for a reason. Even if you refuse to pick Flash, you obviously pick other Summoners to serve the same purpose.

Try playing without flash and you might see why its not healthy for the game. When I say never use flash I mean never, in hundreds of >games including ranked.

Don't get me wrong. I happen to be a main Top user and my preferred Summoners to go are Ghost and Teleport (And my Champion to go was Pre-Work Morde, the one that got me to Platinum. To give you an idea). But with some champions Ghost is not enough and Flash really is better option. Don't believe me? Go with the new Morde Top with Ghost and see if you can survive once you are being targeted and their jungle camps or waits for you to over extend. Even if you pick something like Ignite/Barrier like you obviously seem to do, then the moment you make a mistake you won't have the necessary means to get out, even if you are aiming to go full aggro.

You might cheese unsuspecting players but don't expect to do the same vs an Organized team or highly skilled players.

While other champions such as Shyvana, Hecarim, Shaco, would not need either Summoners. Flash is indeed crusial for some champions but not every single one needs it. Same applies to Ghost.

I feel lile most champs with build in flash have good early games

like zed leblanc shaco their early game power seems pretty strong

now lets say you r playing malz Annie or cho against them

you will still fight eachother

obly now if they make a mistake they flash out with their q/w

and if you make a mistake wel than you know you made a mistake and its gonne kost you

I refuse to take flash anymore ranked or not. But I still agree the game would feel better without the summoner spell flash. That isn't a bad idea though for the boot thing.

I think a lot of champions would have to rush upgraded boots depending on their lane matchup. It's not a bad idea, but I think they would have to make boots dirt cheap.
