Regarding Taliyah going into Season 9..

Hi! I've been a Taliyah main for roughly as long as she's been released.

Briefly on the PBE there were some interesting changes made to Taliyah that I feel were made to benefit her Mid Lane strengths. The changes were reverted, but I've linked a picture of the changes they proposed.

The patch her AOE was removed from her Q was a very rough day. However seeing Taliyah being ripped from the Mid Lane and put in a Jungler position hurt even worse.. It definitely took a toll on my mentals when I had to find a new main or risk being acused of trolling with my One Trick.

From the changes listed above in my screenshot it appears that the focus on her worked ground cooldown is aimed more at her Mid Lane strengths, as I don't see how they impact Jungle strengths. I'm asking if any Riot Employees can give comment, what are the goals with Taliyah at the moment? Is the balance team working to make her more viable in the Mid Lane? Should we expect more changes similar to these in Season 9? If you play Taliyah or have an idea of how to buff her Mid Lane viability, without over-buffing her Jungle strengths, how would you go about a change like this?

honestly, midlane taliyah isn't too bad as is, played her into an Akali, the way the wave is cleared is def different (more of a focus of using W and E for quick waveclear vs the Q spam... however, the Q does clear waves still... and the q on worked ground is quite good/spammable for poke when necessary. (like Ez's Q cuz it's a really low cd on worked ground)

Given her current standings as a Mid Laner (or lack thereof since she's being played so little, websites like op.gg and champions.gg don't even regard her as a Mid Laner) I'm going to have to disagree with you. Especially in a Mid Lane meta that counters her in more ways than one she's very lackluster. Also (and this isn't an attack) your op.gg shows you've only played 8 ranked games on Taliyah, do you really play her that much at all?

I used to play her quite a bit, (Lvl 7 on her) I stopped after they changed her... then decided to play her a couple days ago to see if the changes really shunted her out of midlane (I played her once in the jg and didn't particularly like it at all cuz i hated the changes and how it forced her into jg... so gave up on her as a form of protest lol).. She's really not all that different in midlane. I'm not saying that she's def better in mid. Ik she's pretty much a jg, what I'm saying is that her middle prowess isn't terrible. The reason why she's mainly played JG is cuz yh, her JG has such a huge impact and is really good... that caused a mentality shift into perceiving her only as a jg... the changes to her mid playstyle also played a component into this because most people haven't thought about how to play around the changes and immediately gave up one her mid.... and i'm not just using myself as an example.... multiple people on her subreddit do say she's still fine in mid, just have to play a little differently.

There's also the inflation caused by JG mains picking her up rather than jsut the old Taliyah midlane mains... She has a 48.6% winrate mid.

As I said, she's still gonna be considered more efficient as a JG, just cuz from her nature she's supposed to roam a lot, the lack of need to manage a lane (in JG) while still being able to clear JG quickly means she's more impactful in JG, that doesn't mean she can't be played mid to great effect.
