Delete Bard...Please?

I know Riot has never deleted a champion, but this surely would make a great first. This champion is completely NOT fun to have on my team in ranked games. I almost wish there were an option to report someone for picking Bard. I intend on banning Bard every game, except I'm not always first pick.

Let's be clear. I'm not going at this from the angle that Bard sucks at winning games (even though he probably does?). I am going at this from here is why I think Bard is not fun to have on my team:

  1. BARDS ULTIMATE IS NOT A FUN SPELL. Most of the time Bard's ult either hits nothing or hits everyone, which can be good bad or neutral, but it's certainly not really fun to be disabled by your own teammate randomly without permitting him to do so. How many times do you ever say to yourself gee I wish someone would use zhonya on everyone in my general area, it would really help me out!!! Bard is the second champion with the ability to directly cc your own teammate. The first obviously being Kalista, but in the case of Kalista the teammate at least gets to choose what happens to them. They can go right back in if they were doing well or they can escape. In the case of Bard you will just randomly be zhonya'd. Now I play this game in plat/diamond elo and the ultimates tend to be awful a large number of times in my experience. I can't even imagine how awful this must be in Bronze elo.

  2. BARDS PORTAL IS ONLY FUN WHEN ITS NOT USEFUL. It's fun to go super far distances with Bard's magical journey, but most of the time this only happens when you are traversing landscape in a non-combat situation. Yeah there have been some times where a bard portal saved me and he stunned the enemy coming out, but most of the time Bard players use it for themselves so they can roam around, and it lets the enemy jump over terrain for free really.

  3. BARD HAS NO PERSONALITY AT ALL. He just makes sounds. Nothing about him is really unique or interesting. He is easily the most boring character in the game. I also find it ironic that being the least original or interesting champion in the game his icon looks fairly similar to the champion right next to him in champion select (Blitzcrank).

  4. BARDS KIT HAS ALMOST NO SCALING. He has some baby damage on his Q and a baby scaling on his heal. That's really it. That's not too fun if you ask me. Essentially you're stuck playing this champion as support and building item actives and tank stats. Conversely look at champions like Lulu and Thresh who are supports but you can technically build AD on them and win plenty of games.

TL;DR Yes we enjoy new champions Riot, but this champion's kit is literally almost parallel to intentionally griefing unintentionally (lol). There have been a lot of champions with either cool diverse mechanics (Rek'Sai, Gnar, Azir), or fun unique personalities (Jinx, Braum), but Bard fails in both of these areas. We would be better off deleting him.

Then just dodge the game and take your time penalty if you don't want a bard on your team. There are a lot of good bard players out there, just because you get trolls and not good ones doesn't mean he should be deleted. Riot designed a very good champion that needs requires a bit of skill such as, keeping your adc and bottom lane intanct while also being able to roam and survive for your chimes. Using your W just right either self-cast, cast on teammate or laying them out in the correct spot for use either to run away with that speed boost or keep staying in lane to defend. Also his Magical Journey is a great escape as you move faster than the enemy through it and if they try to chase you through it stun them with your Q or ult them. And Using your ult for engages is also good. (if you get trolls thats sucks for you, those people should be banned). Bard is a great addition to the champion pool and it is hard to get a win sometimes with him on your team.

Oh wait, you're serious?

That somehow makes this funnier.

You can screw players with Anivia by placing a bad wall that blocks there way.

You can bone players with JarvanIV by trapping teammates in his ult.

You can rape players with Kalista by not linking with the support and using the ult to launch a person into a turret.

You can make players cry with Gragas by "saving" the other team with his ult.

Bard is no different at all. He's just easier to screw up with because his ultimate is a skillshot that you need to CAREFULLY use. He has a high skill cap despite how easy his kit is to control, and in the hands of less experienced Bard players, of course he's going to be a pain for his team. You can actually say the same thing for ANY champion in that regard.

Quit being ridiculous.

Many champions have actually been deleted. Replaced would be the better word.

Sion. He has very little in common with old Sion at all.

Master Yi. (Yes, a very solid number of the community played AP Yi. Even pros played him. By taking away those ratios, they effectively removed a champion)

Jax. You guys most likely either don't remember this or weren't around for this, but dodge used to be in this game. You could dodge turrets, you can dive into someone's base and kill them, etc... Jax was the master of that. Not only that, but building AP and AD on him gave him loads of health. It was basically Vlad's passive on steroids AND with AD scaling including.

The list goes on and on.

Yeah they have been replaced, but their character or personality mostly remained in tact. I don't even want to see Bard's personality revived. Like what is his personality? Sounds?
