Will bruisers/tanks ever make a return?

I know that tanky champs are still played like Leona and Vi but besides Maokai there are never any top lane tanks. Sadly there really isn't much of a reason to play tanks anymore outside of him. Mundo is pretty worthless right now because of the popularity of morellonomicon and ignite which applies grievous wounds. Renekton is still around from time to time but you'd probably just go against a Mage to poke you and keep you at range even with his dash. Not to mention that it seems like everyone has percent health damage now and a bunch of mobility just to kid and laugh at you. I doubt they will, at least for awhile, but if they ever do it will be a good day.
