"I'm not ganking because you should be winning the match up"

I was playing a Darius vs Garen match up and was doing pretty good but their jungler kept coming up and zoning me from gold so I fell behind i items so I wasn't able to fight him and just had me pushed to tower. I pinged for assistance and this is what my jungler said "if you can't beat Garen as Darius get good." It doesn't matter the match up if you are behind in gold and XP you probably won't win against them.

If you were legitimately getting camped, then it is up to your jungler to do one of two things: 1. Also camp top. Or 2. Secure other objectives such as Dragon or mid/bot tower. If he didn't do one of those two things, then he messed up.

Umm... as a Garen main I've never lost lane to a Darius unless I was camped by Jg. Darius goes OOM so Garen just has to out sustain, Garen has better wave clear. Your jg was up in the night.

As a jungler:

If you're really getting camped, needing help in an otherwise easy matchup is fine. However, if you're predominately 1v1, and are not winning a matchup that you already should be, with the tools you've already been given, why should I waste time and resources trying to put you ahead instead of helping snowball others or helping hard matchups in other lanes? What have you done to make me think you will win with the advantages I would give you? You may be a perfectly good player who's just having a bad game, but I want my ganks and time spent to have the greatest positive effect. Think of your lane as a +5 to you, and my time spent toplane would contribute +5 to the team and our ability to win lanes and games. Alternatively, I could provide a +10 or greater bonus to a laner elsewhere. These numbers are purely for example, but hopefully they help you understand jungle priorities :)

TL;DR camping is a legit complaint, and your jungle should factor that into the equation, but junglers help those who show the most promise/need the most help 1v1/2v2.

I don't care whether or not you're winning the match up... I'm going top to kill that Darius who thinks he can push.

I need gold for these expensive jungle items man.

As a Garen main, I'd say I'm probably biased in my opinion of this but in my experience, I generally win lane against Darius.

I'd say its a skill matchup, but still slightly in the favor of Garen. Here's a few reasons why...

Darius is gated by mana, Garen only by cooldowns.

Garen has built in sustain, so he can trade, sustain his health back and continue to trade. Darius doesn't.

Garen benefits more than Darius from armor and MR. He gets an additional 20% for everything he builds, Darius doesn't. Its worth noting that Darius does have built in armor penetration, but Garen can afford to build armor and still do decent damage because of his high base damage, whereas if Darius builds armor, his damage will be lacking in comparison.

Garen can trade with Darius and get him low enough for a flash Q+E+R combo and deal the full damage of his ultimate. Darius needs to apply multiple stacks in order to deal the most damage possible. Point being, Garen's ultimate can be used immediately, where Darius needs stacks to be relatively effective.

All of this aside, Garen can still easily lose lane to Darius if he doesn't trade properly and vice versa. Its a skill match up at the least.

In response to the actual topic, your jungler is a fool and should gank regardless of the matchup. What you should really be telling him is "If I can win so hard in this lane, why not gank and make it Garen -teed so that I can continue to snowball even harder?"

Ah, bronze junglers.

Look, I'll be honest here.

If a jungler is camping top lane, a good jungler might take advantage of that and go gank bot when the enemy jungler is sighted... then gank top because Garen is reasonably easy to gank in the first place.

Make sure you buy wards, and know how to farm under tower to get caught up. If you're at your tower, you're less likely to be ganked. It sucks, I know.

Also, even if you didn't do things you could have done, that jungler was an ass. If I'm going to use your camped lane as a way to get bot lane snowballing, I'll tell you. But I'll at least try to gauge when I can come help, or give you a tip. Hell, if you're nice I'd drop a ward or two for you.

I once played Ziggs into Syndra. I didn't do too badly, but I lost lane. My team was pretty critical, claiming that i should have beaten her given my better range.

Turns out she was high platinum. I am decidedly not. Nor do I play a lot of mid.

Teammates can be tough on you, but they don't always know the full story.

Raxicor4/8/2015, 6:56:26 PM1 votes

Wow, that was uncalled for. I mean if they're busy elsewhere alright, but their lovely little quote does not reflect well on their teamwork abilities.

I had a similar problem last night in a ranked match. I picked Irelia into Zed mid and both their jungle gragas and top lane hecarim non stop camped mid. I constantly asked for help from our Shaco jungle but I did not get ANY at all. Later on while we were losing the game because they were all so far ahead the Shaco blamed me for the lose by picking Irelia mid. He kept being toxic and calling me bad or noob. In the end I did more then twice his damage, had full kill participation on our team and he didn't manage to get us a single objective "towers/dragon/baron". :/ The sadest part is even tho i was so far behind the zed the entire time i could still beat him 1v1 no problem if it wasn't for the campsite, and with any help at all it would've been free easy double kills.

It doesn't matter how good the match-up is if you get camped by the enemy jungler. Your jungler was a prick.

ah the slogan of a noob jungler. unless the other guy is fed, then its not

Curling Veigar4/7/2015, 9:47:40 PM1 votes

Darius in general does well vs melees during lanephase, so why he may be silver 4, it's true

Leti the Yeti4/8/2015, 3:07:21 AM1 votes

I've been guilty of this >.> hate if you will but i strongly believed that my gnar should have wooped garen's ass easily no gnar isnt getting camped, he went 0/1 and whined all day about how Garen is "zoning" him...

really? I'm suppose to believe that bullshet? I got more COMPETENT lanes to save right now... like mid (who actually is getting camped) and bot lane (they were pretty stupid too)

Yandere Carry4/8/2015, 5:36:32 AM1 votes

Garen beats darius, but honestly other than early on... jungler shouldn't really go top. Gives up too much botside.
