People you can be whatever you want on the internet
So why do you decide to be ass holes?
So why do you decide to be ass holes?
Because someone else got to be Batman first.
Everyone who plays this game has their own life and mind and dreams and all that shit. You never really think about how many people you'll only ever encounter for 40 minutes of your life, or the fact that regardless of who that person is, was, and will be, all you'll ever see of them is an insipid crybaby that's throwing a 40-minute temper tantrum over the smallest thing.
League of Legends in a nutshell.
My personal thought? We don't see all those other people as people, because they're outside of our monkeysphere.
Because they are probably unhappy in their real life; they use the internet and video games as means of escape instead of as entertainment. They derive pleasure in making people feel like they do in life. I tend to pity trolls; how sad must their lives be that they need to come and ruin someone else's thirty minutes of fun in order to validate their existence.
Sometimes though, it really is just a guy or girl having a particularly bad day and they let it affect their in game/internet persona.
I guess people just need to vent a little and take it out on other people because there's a lesser chance of retribution?
Personally, I tend to get a little over-zealous when it comes to arguing with, er, rude people. Some satisfaction of out-maneuvering their logic and pointing out how they could improve their ethos with slight word variation?
I'm not perfect, but I think that's the reason. People aren't perfect, and sometimes they let the worst out.
Wel i tried being a bilionair at first but it didnt really work out
gues being an ashole just came naturaly
Also if your trying to troll this is not the way my brother the correct way is going to team reqruitment and saying your a girl gamer looking for gamers than once they click it tell them girls dont play lol
I decided to be Jeddy017.
I wouldn't have to be an asshole if people weren't stupid.
This actually made me smile a bit.
I think it's technically the same reason drivers are assholes until you make eye contact with them in many cases. You can't empathize with someone you don't know and can't see.
Because no ones going to knock them out over the internet. Why be afraid, it just your monitor.
Because we can, obviously.
All these flavors, and you choose salty.
something about di--s and pu--ies and america f---- yea.
Idk... cuz I can tbh.
Pretty much because they're actually assholes and there's less chance of retribution or consequences online.
Interestingly, you actually have to put MORE effort to be an asshole online: you had to put in the effort to type something in and press send. My friend would tell you I mutter stuff like "this Kat is so useless" while playing, but you know what? I can just say it to myself (and him), and not type it in.
Suggestion for said people: If you're toxic, curse in real life, rage at the computer monitor, type something in and don't hit send. It's really not hard to just stay silent and not ruin other people's games / days
Suggestion for Riot: maybe a "/void" option in the chatbox so people can vent and hit enter?
Because being an asshole in real life has repercussions where as on League there really isn't any accept getting reported and then they just make a second & third & fourth account and switch back and forth until their other account is un suspended.
Because they're 12 and they're dumbasses and they can't help it. The only online etiquette they have they learned is from watching their 14 year old brother playing CoD and chugging mountain dew and screaming at people. What do you expect...
Excuse my pessimism, but people are assholes by nature. A lot of us just happen to actually want people to like us, and thus only show it to people who don't/can't know who we are.
but...im not an ass hole....
For the lulz.
You don't even have to flame or use naughty words to piss people off. it's just so funny.
What did you want me to be, a transfem furry anti-feminist, born again crocodile?
Cause I can be that if you want.
Because I'm such a nice guy IRL. Why would I want to be me online?
Most people in this entire universe were already ass-holes to begin with anyway. The on-line behaviour is only a reflection of who people really are. The behaviours have a lot to do with "infections/contamination" via "energetic-level" similarly to how being drugged or drunk causes notice-able behaviours.
Chat restrictions do nothing, you can still type ever couple minutes, if anything it gives people time to think about what kinda asshole things they wanna say if anything. As for ranked restrictions most people have more then one account to troll on.
On your main you say nothing On your Smurf you troll, feed, be toxic w/e.
there should be an ip limit or something to accounts or have them linked so when one is suspended so is the other.
Maybe they're actually assholes in real life and they're just being themselves.
Evolution trained us to be assholes and that is what we are. It's only modern society that places a pressure on an individual to not be an asshole and think about other people. Unfortunately, most people are too ignorantly self absorbed to see it.
