I get it, it IS just a game but you really don't need to screw over your team in a competitive mode because you want to play off meta. there's TWO modes for that, blind and draft

well i have over 100 games doing rakan mid in normals but i get flamed if i even dare hover it in ranked

just like any one else (more so pro) people will exploit anything that for whatever reason is hard to balance/counter to win games

for a recent example cho or when the rework of maokai came out people playing him full magic pen ap support for E cheese

Its hard to try new stuff in draft normals right now......... like, I want to try Kayn solo lane like 10 games or so. But either he gets banned (in normal draft wtf) or he gets picked in the jungle.

So, how I'm supposed to learn to play him? The one game I got to pick him (omg, miracle), I got camped by the enemy jungler, the enemy bot lane (only support coz the adc went afk) started roaming mid while the bot lane were playing 2v0 and didn't ping or type anything useful in chat. Then, they started flaming as ofc, that's the only thing they (a bot laner and a looooooooooooooooovely jungler) could do.

I'd love to play like 10 ranked games with those 2, just to make them lose every single one of them ^^ We sadly won the game, as the enemy adc was afk.

And that's fucking gold-plat-dia elo for normals. You'd think people would've learn by now that if you get camped and you are trying something you things aren't going to go to well. but nooooooooooooooooooooooooo, lets flame. That way he will play better ;) ;) ;)

for you its new, for them its not

theres no point in placing so much value on meta picks at such low elos. picks only matter the higher you go, and at silver there are tonnes more important things to fix than picks. in otherwords, people have bigger problems than picks because the skillset of every individual is vastly spread.

this thread is the equivalent of a unfit, angry, dirty person placing high importance on clothing style in attracting mates, when the obvious problem lies in the person's health, grooming habits and personality.

What if OP meant people trying something they have never tried before in ranked. For example, Cassiopeia support. I know that sure as hell isn't a viable alternate playstyle, if I check on op.gg and see that the person has never played ranked Cass in their entire existence.
