Honestly, if you see an inexperienced Irelia on your side, in your normal blind pick, and take League of Legends seriously to such an extent that you become a bully (it's a game btw) mute your chat and shut the fuck up.

Got flamed all game to losing against a Lv 7 mastery Jax when I have less than Lv 2 mastery on Irelia and that was before her rework. Decided to try her top and wasn't expecting much success to begin with, I just wanted to play her. We won the game and I still got harassed, being asked if my laning skills got reworked too and "this top lol" from my jungle, who by the way came to my lane one (1) time for an unsuccessful gank. After and before that I was on my own until we started having team fights and not once did I complain or ping excessively for help. But of course, that must warrant flaming your teammate on all chat right?

This game has a disgusting lack of self love from its players. Instead they just take it out on other people.

that's exactly my point lol I was trying irelia in a normal game and getting flamed out my arse for no reason and we still won! like there's so many other things going on in the world to be upset about lmfao

That's horrible people even do this, but unfortunately it's a problem that never is gonna stop.

A few days ago I had Irelia pick inted in champ select and one of my teammates says: 'lol cant wait to see how top goes.' Enemy team banned Irelia then later in the game in all chat someone on the enemy said someone was mad and inting because their own team banned irelia and someone on my team is like: 'LOL was gonna ban her anyway.' People are such butts for not letting people try new reworks or champions in normals. Now the person definitely shouldn't have inted because of that either way, (I quietly just picked my main to play top instead and did well) but dang can people not have sticks up their butts and let people have fun? I've only gotten to play her about 5 times and she's super fun.

Also people should know better than to be toxic to players once a rework comes out. Like for example when Talon's rework went live I didn't do too well my first game on him despite being mastery 7 from old Talon. My Lee flamed me for being mastery 7 on Talon and 'not being able to play him.' Lol. Look buddy. He was literally released just hours before.
