Azir's ult

I've been playing a mid Azir for a while, and I can't find a use for Azir's ult other than to block while I escape if things are going badly, or flash behind the enemy champ, trap him with the ult, than go to town with w and q. If anyone else plays him, what are other ways to use his ult?

use it after jax (or anyone but akali) jumps you, so they do 0 damage the whole fight.

Think of it as a placeable spiked wall. It keeps strong melee champions away from you, and deals a bit of damage while its at it.

honestly i dont like his ult. far more interesting if it raised 3 sand soilders in a fixed location or something.
