Deathfire Touch

Why is deathfire touch actually stronger for champions with damage over time (I know they get the weakened version of it, but with DoT spells it's stronger than normal anyway), while champions with AoE spells are much more limited and can't really use that keystone effectively?

lol, it's cuz of the amount of time DFT remains active, each tick of damage reapplies the dft, therefore a Cassiopeia will be able to maximize the damage of dft over a lux as her abilities are extremely spammy (the e) or apply a DoT (q and w). Naturally the longer a fight goes on the more efficient DFT is (if you are continuously using abilities). Very few champions have an AOE ability that's spammy, thus they'll opt for TLD, but u can still take dft if you expect to get a large amount of AD or AP, and think fights are going to be extended.

What I meant was: Why did Rito make Deathfire Touch unviable for aoe mages? But, oh, well. It doesn't matter now anyway.
