Nidalee, wtf is wrong with her?

So I played two games with her after a very long time, and I got to say I hated it. She felt so weak! I played her support and mid, two roles in which she doesn't thrive obviously but, I just wanted to try her. Support didn't feel that bad because I could at least hit their enemy thresh by doing some minimal damage and giving some sweet AS boost. However midlane, where she was supposed to be good, some couple of millenias ago is fcking nightmare.

Let's not consider a full rework since we have much more needed reworks, she needs something to redifine her idenitity. To me she felt like a diver, an assasin and an artillery mage thrown into a mixer gutted to hell and then threw out that abomination called nidalee. I think she is one of the few champions that her power doesn't come from her kit or the player's skills but from the ability of an enemy fucking up.

Now unto the skills: Passive: While in jungle that passive is amazing, it feels a bit useless. I mean you can only use it in the jungle and that pretty much defines her role, rito wanted diversity and stuff but that passive just screams jungle. And that would be OK if jungle nid wasn't so bad. So my idea would be to increase the duration of out of bush movement speed. That would at least help her with her ganks.

Q: Her whole kit relies on it and it just is so fcking hard to hit it. Even if the enemy is a freaking potato the hitbox would miss it, and it just goes SO goddamn slow. My ideal Q would be to have increased projectile speed, but at the end of the range if it hasn't hit anything allow it to be picked up and have it's cooldown reset for an immediate throw. It would also count as a hunted target (increased jump range and movement speed towards it).

W: I guess it's fine but overall I would like a bit smoother animation. Currently if you throw down a trap it will take some time to arm but even if the animation is clearly finished there is a small amount of time that the trap isn't active. I think it was done to counter her clearing jungling potential back in S5 but since the game is weird now so shall it be.

E: Complete rework. It is a skill that provides so much power (kit-wise) and in reality feels so useless. The Attack speed is very nice, but the heal is laughable considering the huge mana cost it has behind it. It is one of those abilities that if removed it could be replaced by something really cool. I think nidalee shouldn't have sustainability. It's just weird and provides nothing to her kit. Instead I would like to see a form of light cc. Dunno what it could really be. Perhaps a throwable chakram that goes forth and then comes back slowing enemies hit and poisoning them for a small amount? I dunno.

R: it is fine the way it is.

These are my 2 cents for nid. Even though I really think she should be a candidate for a full rework cause her class identity is just weird. These sound like reasonable changes to me. I really want to see midalee again. She was one of my favourite midlaners back in the days.

Bite the bullet, decide if she's support or mage or assassin, instead of lumping all three playstyles into her kit. Then, commit her to one or two at most.

It's just that a lot of her abilities define her, but poorly. The power budget is spent in weird ways and the other half of her kit is just melee spam.

I think they could do a lot better on Nid if they stopped to decide just what 'support' meant to her and if she needed to have it in the way she does now. It might let them budget out power better.

She felt so weak!

..

I played her support and mid

How's jayce support and bard mid treating you? Much better?

Nid a in a horrible spot right now but like playing her support and mid is pretty irrelevant information

but she is good in the jungle correct? unless riot wants her to be a mid champion I dont see them changing her much any time soon.

I had a nidalee that was dying to jungle creeps at level 7. she did not gank a single time until level 11. because the champion is legit shit. even the top challngers don't play her anymore.

Well I've put quite a bit of time into nidalee, and I must say I really like the q change Idea. Unfortunately that's the only one I agree with. I like her kit the way it is and it works well as it was designed for the jungle. Her healing might need some number adjustments but I don't think it should be replaced. It's really good for keeping health bars up in extended skirmishes. I think overall she just needs number buffs but like I said I would like to see the q change.
