Will Syndra ever have a place in the meta?

We've had a ton of issues with the new Keystones coming out, Many champions don't work with them and it's caused certain champions to become unused.

Syndra is one of them. Comet is inherently useless on her as her main combo pushes the enemy champion away from where the comet lands, and you could argue that Aery works on her. It's fine on her, but on other champions its great. You could take Spellbook, but Syndra doesn't really work with Ignite and Barrier is necessary on her as she gets collapsed on so easily.

The big issue is here why would you play Syndra? Everything she is supposed to excel at she doesn't. Anything that a Syndra can do can be done much better by a Xerath, A Lux, A Vel'Koz, or a Zoe. Her burst is good, but it's not great, It doesn't match up to the other artillery mages.

I think it also should be put into perspective that parts of her kit feel wrong. While her Q, W and E feel really fluid and work well together, her ult feels very out of place with it's range. You have all of these long range abilities in her basic abilities, but then her ult is the shortest range ability in her kit, and it feels that way. Syndra isn't meant to get as close as she needs to in order to use her ult, She shouldn't have to flash in to use it. You could argue that it's meant to be used in tandem with a E stun, but that stun knocks her opponent away.

Syndra has a lot of counterplay, and that's what makes her so weak right now. Every single one of her abilities can be countered, especially her ult. The more popular midlane mages lack easy counterplay, If they can hit their abilities you will die, but with Syndra that's just not going to be the case majority of the time. You could argue that her ult is point and click, yes, but that doesn't change the fact that it's range is extremely short for such a squishy mage that is meant to be played from a long distance.

I think Syndra needs some attention. It seems like Syndra is either crazy strong or extremely weak, there has never really been a period of her being okay, and it has to do with the point and click nature of her ult. If you give her ult a usable range for her playstyle, there's no counterplay to it.

What are your suggestions for making Syndra better and healthier?

So Syndra is disgustingly oppressive for an entire year and she falls into the "good but not Great category" and people already want buffs?

Syndra is played in lcs. That alone is evidence that this champion works in the current meta.

A good syndra is still really oppressive. If I go mid, that is one champ I groan over.

Obviously her kit is fine since she's been meta before, why not take electrocute?

Syndra is really good still currently. I wouldn't take winrate into much consideration. She still does the big damage.

Did you already forget about the whole year where she and ori were both S tier?
