Officially Rank 0 Honor for 1 Full Year with only a single chat ban.

About a year ago, I received my first chat ban. It was fair, I was very annoyed at my current team for trolling and let them know how i was feeling. Before that I had never really been toxic. I accepted the chat ban and continued to play.

6 months later, My chat ban was LONG gone but I was still at Dishonorable/Rank 0 for Honor. I was confused and took to the forums for information. I was told that this was normal, and that it would rank up eventually.

A year later, 0 chat bans later, 0 warnings, likely not very many reports as I don't type in game very often and I am still Dishonorable.

** Is this okay? Does Riot think this is okay?** I just find it so weird how this is even possible. To permanently lock an account from receiving honor despite only a single chat ban?

It just feels very discouraging. This level of punishment for someone who only had a single chat ban just seems so excessive. I've been playing less and less just because of how not good it's beginning to feel. I have like 30 chests and haven't received a single key in a year. I am losing my will to play the game, which sucks because it's a game I at one point really loved.

you stop making honor progress whenever you're validly reported.

you have to not flame in chat at all to honor up. you can ask Riot support to pinpoint some of your negative chat logs, if you want.

I find it sad that Riot puts so much emphasis on their loot boxes now. A chat ban restricts acquisition of keys. Really one should just play the game to have fun, but it sounds like you only play it to get loot boxes and keys. Maybe you should think on yourself ans ask if you are really having fun or if you have an addiction to the loot system.

It takes a long time, but if you’re actually not toxic you get it back. Took me 6 months to get back to level two, not playing a ton. But I mute all at the first sign of flame and made it back just fine. Yes it takes a while. And you should submit a ticket. My chat ban in January caught me off guard because I was just responding to flame. But when I submitted a ticket they pulled some of my chat logs and it opened my eyes. At the time when you respond to flamers with more flame it feels justified. But when the support team pulled some chat logs and showed me “here’s why you got chat restricted” I knew I was in the wrong 100% even though I was provoked.

My guess is you think you’re no toxic, but you actually have multiple valid reports and don’t realize it. They’ll pull your recent chat logs and you’ll see lol. You’ll lose your “I’m a target, I’m am being done wrong” blah blah blah attitude quick. Just speaking from experience.

Turns out it is just because I don't play enough. I checked and I am actually on checkpoint 2! I just need to play more, which is hard because the game can get discouraging.

This thread actually led me to go check that so good thing :D

You dont have to receive warnings or punishments in order to slow your honor progress. Typing "not very often" does not mean you aren't getting reported. You may say passive aggressive things, occasionally bitch about an ally's performance, ping spam people. I dont know. But these are all things that could potentially halt your honor progress, without you being warned or punished.
