Me and my friend did placements together and I got placed silver 4 and he got placed silver 2>
I do not understand why this happened.
To clarify: I've never played a single Solo/Duo game before this. I've only been placed in flex, but I don't think that affects where I'm placed at all. Please help.
You had already played ranked games before on that account. The MMR from previous seasons does not go away. A new account that hasn't played any games at all will almost always be placed higher.
As far as I can tell, you played ranked in season 6, which was the dynamic queue period. It may not have many games (only 12 from what I can tell), but it still counts.
Dynamic queue replaced solo/duo (and ranked 5v5) that season, so results from that season would be carried forward into your season 7 solo/duo mmr (as well as season 7 flex mmr), which in turn would be carried forward to now.
