Biggest reason are the support items, because basically you are buying items for your team instead of for yourself. If Riot gets rid of those, then support would be more popular.
I am not talking about Coin or Spellthief etc...I am talking about items that support has to buy to boost their adc/teammates.

you just build up on yourself because your asset lies in your champ's kit.

SciFi Scrivener1 votesIt looks like you don't understand what a support's role is by this post. I'm a support main and find it incredibly fun to purchase sight stone, sweeper, and control wards. Controlling jungle vision is an incredible chess match, and a smile appears on my face every time I destroy an enemy control ward.
Not to mention Redemption and Locket. Keeping my team alive is very rewarding. Watching those assists add up is a great feeling.
If you don't like supporting the efforts of the team... then play another role. I would suggest MID or ADC. Just don't blame your support when you over stay your welcome under the enemy turret and they don't have those support items to keep you alive.

RookPusher1 votesStupidity is cyclical. People assume that Support should follow the ADC. So they don't play Support because they don't want to follow the ADC.
