Will this get me to Plat?

Current Silver 3 here and the highest I've ever been is Silver 1. I have been playing since Season 1. I don't think I have lasted more than a solid 5 months before I just don't feel like playing one day and then quit for 5 or so months. Now this last break I decided to go hard at Starcraft 2, now if any of you have truly played that game then you'll know the learning curve is crazy high. The mentality I developed because of Sc2 and the purpose of this question, is "Take something away from each game" win or lose as long as I learned something new, I was happy. Back to League and I failed my promos horribly and started at Silver 5 but am up to Silver 3 about 2 weeks later with a 70% win rate for 16W 4L playing purely Support. I have not raged a single game, I start every champ select trying to get everyone's lanes figured out and my signature phrase of "I say this in champ select so I don't know how you'll do, but if you start to lose lane please play as so and get wards and pots, we'll help you out" This get's a positive response about 90% of the time although I doubt that will fly so well past Silver.

So to sum it all up, will having the mentality of "Take something away from each game" get me to Plat or higher if I truly do follow that or is it deeper than that?

you still need skill, but having the right attitude is the first step at improving.

"i never lose. either i win or i learn"

It's not deep at all.

Get your game mechanics to the point that you fulfil your role within a team at the level that you are playing (i.e. Bronze, silver, gold...). Learn the meta game so that you know how to close out games. Learn how to stop a team imploding on itself.

Pick a role, preferably mid or adc, and spam it. Get good at 2-3 champions. Learn to CS. Ward.

That will get you plat.

SC2 is too different from LoL, I've reached Diamond in both

-In Sc2, you improve your own gameplay -in LoL, you just focus on strategies to make your team feed less

The problem I had from switching from SC2 to LoL (I stopped playing SC2 when HOTS patch came out, I was Master 1v1 in WoL) was that I just can't help trying to micro the minions.......

Yes, instead of each game being treated as a test of how skillful you are already, treat is as a practice session to try to find out what mistakes you're making, so that you can stop making them. Almost every loss can leave you feeling like, "Alright, I know what I did wrong, I can play better now!" if you view it the right way.

SC2 is superior, you can't do anything here, if someone has a bad day and feeds or has connection problems

It will certainly help, with you playing as support, you'll run into a lot of duo combinations and can take away certain things against playing them as such.

The only thing "deeper" from that would be is knowing when to roam, ie you just got a double kill bot because reasons and your mid is pushed under the tower, try roaming to relieve pressure, or ward deep by their blue or red (depending on your side), ward or help take an objective. 99% of the time if you live there's something you can do before you go back.
