I have stopped building Athene's, as I feel like Morellonimicon is by far the better choice now. However, I'm having trouble deciding what to build to reach max CDR. I have been building Lucidity Boots just because they're extremely cheap, but it does leave my damage lacking a bit. What are you guys doing this season?
Assuming mid lane, I would Probably still go Athene's for the Magic Resist. Though Morello's is a good alternative for AD Opponents.
I also tend to Avoid Lucidity boots for CDR as of late. This is partially because CDR items are so plentiful and cheap now. Doubly so if you are getting Morrelo's.
Athenes and Morellonimicon. I play an extremely pokey and mana intensive Lux. With the 40% CDR I still run out.

athenes versus AP assassins, morellonomicon versus everything else
the CDR glyphs give you flexibility to build tear or zhonyas depending on your opponents since you dont need two CDR items and they let you have your sorc boots for the early power spike. plus, it means you still gain benefit from blue buffs in the midgame with them being less important as you approach level 18.
i do the same thing on Azir as well.

I play lux with Double morellonicom + mejai just so I can farm kills/assists and get my mejais stacked. (I only do this against teams without assassins) And if im really fed I usually go up to their fountain and oneshot any squishy who respawns (◡‿◡✿)

I usually either build althene (start seeker's into chalice vs AD mid). If I'm ahead enough, I'll get mejai. If not, probably will get morello for more spamming even if I'm wasting 5% cdr.
