Small QoL Buff to Karthus

Every time I play Karthus (or on rare occurrences against one) I ult with a certain degree of safety to kill someone. If i ult with lvl 1 ult i wait until they are between 250-150 health just to be safe and not waste my ult. The problem is that sometimes they might live because of their resistances. Chogath gets a visual indicator for when his Ult will kill so can Karthus get something similar? His ult is global so it should not be on him, instead the indicator will be on the enemy champion so if Karthus has vision that is how he will know. This will also help others know that Karthus can kill them with an ult so it works both ways, he knows he can kill you and so do you. Something like green or black mist circling champions, only getting more agitated as they get lower and moving faster when he ults.

P.S. Obligatory comment about giving him a global laugh when he ults

Not a snowball's chance in a Teemo nest of that happening.

^ so u already have a ult that can global hit all and now u want it to tell you when u will deff get the kill? some ppl want it too easy

Think of it on the enemies end, do I waste my summoner heal because maybe I won't survive this, ir save it because I know for a fact it will not kill me

I rarely playKarthus . However I do agree that this would be a good addition to his ultimate. So many times, Karthus ults and I walk away with a sliver of health left. Like all the fucking time. in fact, ive only been actually killed 1-2 times by his ult.

Cho's ult is meant as an execute ability, that's why he got an indicator for when his will kill. Additionally his deals true damage, something that's far easier to account for, Garen gets the same treatment for his villian mark. Karthus's ult isn't necessarily meant to be the finishing blow, there is no encouragement to make it hit last over his other abilities. Additionally it deals magic damage and not true damage, meaning it would have to run a complex calculation. I don't see Riot allocating the necessary resources to accomplish this

The ult does X amount of damage. Resistance give you Y% resistance to magic damage. Health is at Z. Is X•(1-Y) greater than Z. If yes show indicator, if no don't show. Not really that simple but not as complex as you would think from a programming stand point

Still more complicated than 'does X damage, target has less than X health.' With that and various shields buffs and damage reductions, it can get a fair bit more complicated than the others.

Also again, Cho's ult incentives killing the target with it, while Garen's does more damage the lower the health of the target. Karthus has neither such mechanic on his ult, so using it as a killing blow is not something the 100% matters. Slight difference of purpose in the ults.

I don't expect Riot to ever do this. This is going to be one of the reasons they likely won't want to while 'visual clutter' will be another. If Karthus can't even get a global quote on his ult, don't expect any other QoL change for his ult.

I think he is a bit week right now and could us a small buff or some more utility These are some of my ideas for buffing him but Yah the wall nerff really didn't need to happen

this is another idea i had posted a wile back for a Karthus update.

Karthus is missing something to make up for certain falls in the mid game. So I would like the to add a stacking passive to defiled. Passive each kill give you a stack, max 5, each stack gives 1,2,3,4,5 per cent spell vamp Active when toggle on defiled he gets bonus % of ability power to all abilities you toggle off defile. You then loose all stacks and you loose all stacks at the end of death defied.

I think this would be a nice revamp to an old champ and would allow him to return to the pro seen. I would help to prevent early game magic resist shut down and help give karthus back some damage. I would increase his skill cap suitability and would not make him over powered. with max stacks and having defiled on you can have 55%/75% Q 55% E and 75% R This could be redused to only 0.5, 1, 2, 3, 4 Q. I know the ult seems op but late game if it doesn't kill someone life steel usually negate the damage.

I would also like to see 2,4,6,8,5 spellvamp per-stack and 1,2,3,4,5% bonus ap to all ablities. Since you only gain stackes when defile is toggled off and loos all stacks when toggled from on to off, this max for a fun mechanic.

Max stack 200ap change lv 1-5 Wall 5%=10 10%=20 15%=30 25%=50 Defile 25%=50 30%=60 35%=70 40%=80 45%=90 Lay waist 35%=70 40%=80 45%=90 50%=10 55%=110 Lay Waist single target and ult 65%=130 70%=140 75%=150 80%=160 85%=170

Max stack 1070ap change from lv 1-5 Wall 5%=535 10%=107 15%=160 25%=267 Defile 25%=267 30%=321 35%=375 40%=428 45%=482 Lay waist 35%=375 40%=428 45%=482 50%=535 55%=588 Lay waist single target and ult 65%=695 70%=749 75%=803 80%=856 85%=909 %ap could be change to .5,1,2,3,4

Or they could add DFG's effect to his wall of pain and give it an area of affect that if an enemy champion would dash, flash, or tp in the area of the wall excluding ult they would instantly get teleported in to the wall and stunned for 1.5 sec.

Similar to how has a wall that stops the dash this one redirects you in to the wall giving Karthus more depth. I could even be renamed Torn Vale of Eternity

You know he is warping the space between life and death thus DFG's effect on wall would make seance as would the warping effects on dashes and tp's. they could even change his Q's so they deal double damage large jungle mobs and champs as aoe damage and triple damage to single target large jungle mobs and champions. NOW Lay Waste Cost: 20/26/32/38/44 Mana Range: 875 Karthus unleashes a delayed blast at a location, dealing damage to nearby enemies. Creates a delayed blast at Karthus' cursor position. After 0.5 seconds, deals 40/60/80/100/120 (+30% Ability Power) magic damage to each nearby enemy, this deals double damage if it hits only a single unit.

Patched

40/60/80/100/120 (+30% Ability Power) aoe minions

80/120/160/200/240 (+60% Ability Power) single minion and aoe to champs / large jungle mobs

120/180/240/300/360 (+90% Ability Power) single target champion and large jungle mobs.

this would do a lot of good and would keep him from out farming but give him that early game damage he needs.

Beside being non interactive I believe the rest of his kit can go unchanged, just the ukt needs a small tweak here and there

blackcat13001 votes

THE WALL is next to useless.

His Q deals 120 +30% damage in team fights unless he focuses a single target witch also applies to being ganked by junglers.** EVEN HITTING 3 SINGLE TARGET Q's in a row feel lame when you die in less then 2 seconds to their two his and your 3 Q's took 4.5 seconds to not even deal lethal damage.**

Then they pop a health pot and 100-0 or 70-0 you. Yah that feels lame when you are at such a disadvantage in damage.

his ukt or ult dose need to be tweaked since their are 37 champs that render it useless along with 3 items.

Just how is making his jungle clear and damage to champions a bad thing they could even buff Ahri's Q by +30 damage and +2% ap ratio.

I think his ult could us a small update as well to make it more final Requiem is a song for the dead or soon to be dead.

Patch rework a champion that has their health set to -1 will not have passive revive abilities proc.

Requiem: A champion that would receive damage grater than or equal to that champs current health will have their health set to -1.Tryndamere Aatrox Zilean Zac Anivia item 3026

now die and stay dead when killed by a Karthus ult that is my Idea on how to update it.

This just prevent doesn't cause their cooldown to proc and Requiem has to deal the killing blow also add in a 3 second % of health burning effect wile you channel so spell-shields have to be proked at just the right time not when ever or just passively be up because item 3102
