[Support Mains] Real talk here

I know some of you may really enjoy playing support role as it is, don't mind being solely responsable of your team vision coverage. I know some even like to be the silent defender, the "dark knight", to feel like you have done a great work behind the stage, even if your team never realise.

#But

Tell me, would you mind if Riot change the support role to be something more desirable by a large portion of the player base? something more interactive, still focused on supporting the rest of your team, but less stale and "boring". Would you mind not be the only responsable by vision ( I know you aren't right now, but the rest of the players think you are ).

Think of overwatch, people love to play supporting classes there, it's way more fun.

Tell me, would you mind to have your entire role reworked for the good of everyone?

Yes. Right now you have traditional supports that are generally outclassed by mages and tanks. The meta is changing and shifting and people want more than just the silent savior. That's why Brand and Zyra are so popular. Also why people like Leona (didja see that ult?) and thresh (sick lantern bro). The sona changes were done so that people could SEE and tell what her auras were doing. They buffed experience on clearing wards because they know supports fall short elsewhere (and my wards still get last hit by the adc #thanksalotyougreedyvaynemains). Everything is legit pointing to the support role needing more recognition and impact in the game.

I want the sexy announcer lady scream out "PENTA-WARD!" for all to hear whenever I've placed five Wards in a row.

I would waste so many wards just for that.

That would be awesome. Even if it was like every 10 wards.

As long as I can still do my job of tilting others without ever having to deal a single tick of damage I'm perfectly okay.

Though supporting will become harder because then more people will be willing to learn and get good at it. Like it already has been "harder" over the past 2 years when Riot made a pretty neat overhaul on vision changes (ward limits and trinkets for example). If I'm going to be selfish, then I don't want that.

But it's either they completely fuck over the utility backliners and reenter another age of the Lulu mid/top terror or make supporting "fun".

Technically, Supports aren't solo responsible for wards right now. The playerbase hasn't just figured it out mostly yet. It's why so many games are lost.

How would they do it without fucking up utility support? They tried to do that after season 3 where they nerfed base stat of support to give them AP scaling which I still don't like.

The problem with playing support is majority of support character do not bring damage to the table and that's what people find fun. Damage is noticeable. It's satisfying, but you can't have a support with damage and utility without them being OP or annoying(Lulu for example).

People like support in Overwatch because support in that game can still do very good damage/protect themselves while having very good utilities for the team and also require very little effort.

Yes I'd mind. Why would I want people playing my role? I love instant queues. I like being the decider of my lane, and how the vision is distributed. I LIKE THE POWER >:O. (I'm srs, I really like support, and 1/2 the people I play with have NO CLUE how to optimally place wards in certain areas, and it irritates the crap out of me. I don't like relying on other players to ward because I know they aren't gonna do it right)

The only thing I'd like to see changed is giving thresh a different ult, his kit is already overloaded with utility why not have something with a little more flair than the box, most other supports have a decent damage ult (Ivern annie brand blitz) an ult with great cc that can change a team fight all together (Leona sona lulu naut bard morg) or heals the team in clutch situations (raka janna ) while threshe has the box....you get to damage one person and slow them, you also have the chance to slow 3 others if they don't flash out of it.

Me personally would like to see an ult like the lanterns souls screeching cries slow (decaying) all enemies in the area and they take a some dot for while they are in it and if they are in it the full duration they have a larger damage done (from like their ear drums exploding) or the lantern opens up doing something like (shielding, healing, or giving a damage buff to) all of nearby allies using the energy of the dammed now the lantern is already a shield so that might be out even though it was changed to only shield one person excluding threshold. Anyone have thoughts?

Here is the part that i don't get. How the hell is support uninteractive? you are arguably more interactive than the ADC in lane.

Also, Supports haven't been solo responsible for vision since season 3.
