Furthering the trinket upgrade path

While the vision game has changed since trinkets have joined the fray, I think it would be pretty cool if the available trinkets had another set of upgrade paths once you upgrade them the first time. Feel free to tell me what you think whether you like the idea or you think i'm a ****in idiot. I think it would be cool to have further ways to upgrade trinkets to fit a situation or playstyle. This post is also on GD

First off for this:

  • the upgrade cost for tier 3 trinkets is dropped to 250g
  • at level 15 you have to ability to upgrade your trinkets further choosing between two more paths
  • these next tier upgrades cost 400g

Greater Stealth Totem Upgrade Paths

  • Increases the duration of the ward by 25%
  • Range of vision for ward increases by 5%, no longer adds to the max ward limit

Greater Vision Totem Upgrade Paths

  • Increases health of vision trinket by 2 (now 7 hp)
  • Increases the max Vision Ward limit by 1

Oracle's Lens Upgrade Paths

  • Stealthed champions, wards, and stealth traps are tagged and revealed for 1 seconds after leaving the range of either the scan or the oracle's lens
  • range of the scan increases by 10%, scan grants vision of the area scanned during it's duration

Farsight Orb Upgrade Paths

  • Range increases to 5500, radius increases by 5%, and enemy champions hit will be revealed for an additional second
  • Reveals an area for an additional 1.5 seconds, now works on an ammo charge. Max ammo 2, CD for each cast 40 seconds

I feel that adds uneeded complexity to the trinkets.

Also, more upgrades hurts their flexibility. Currently it's entirely possible to swap trinkets mid-game when the vision game shifts around, considering the base trinkets cost 0 gold and thus have no associated gold loss from selling them (provided you didn't upgrade them once).

If you have 2 upgrades - it solidifies each trinket choice a lot more, making them feel more permanent and inflexible. Which really hurts trinkets like Scrying Orb that are amazing late-game at dismantling Baron Baits and removing a significant amount of risk from face-checking, but marginally useful in lane.

Ahh this is indeed true. I hadn't thought about that aspect

EDIT: what if there was trinket swapping? Rather than selling and rebuying another trinket, you could swap your current trinket for another of the same tier with the cooldown on use still in effect. In this case it would be a good idea to upgrade it completely and then swap whenever the situation calls.
