Why is Illaoi's E on anything short of a 10 second cooldown?

Her E does so much damage in a short amount of time, and in teamfights attacking her to break the spirit isn't an option so all you're left to do is leave the range of it and be a vessel. Neither of these things are fun to deal with. If you get pulled by E the teamfight is pretty much lost and she can toss them out like pancakes because the cooldown is so low

I mean a skill like that feels like it should be part of an ultimate. It seems so out of place as just a regular ability. She can make you a vessel and then by the time you actually manage to unvessel yourself she can just do it again.

This. From the moment Riot released her kit I looked at her E and said "That has the power of an ultimate". You have to work for it, sure, but as people begin to figure out the champion it's only going to get easier to proc vessels on your opponents. Once you become a vessel it's essentially "screw off and kill tentacles for thirty seconds while I CS in peace". The only other CC that has that kind of duration is death.

I was shocked the CD was so low. I think the CD needs to be increased and it should not be affected by CDR. Being a vessel is one of the worst parts of this game right now. It's not OP, but it is annoying as hell.

I feel like there shouldn't be more than one vessel allowed at once (part of what makes her so strong on ARAM). Want to grab someone else? Fine but the tradeoff is the other person loses their vessel status making things a little more meaningful than oh E is up lets use it. Of course that won't make much of a difference early game in lane.

The CD does seem ridiculously low for the amount of power it gives.

the vessel thing is what makes support illaoi troublesome, as if both adc and supp are vessels then the only thing you can do is sit back and wait until you clear the debuff

The closest equivalent is Blitz Q which is on 18s CD and guarantees a death if hit.

Working at intended.

To be fair, an enemy champion shouldn't be fun to deal with.

However, I kind of half way agree, why is it so low?

It goes from 20 to 12 seconds as you rank it up.

Illaoi typically builds Black Cleaver, so she has a good amount of CDR.

The funniest thing is in a team fight when you land an E on someone....then land another on someone else while the first person still has the debuff.

at that point the other team just has to cut their losses and run

Would you rather take ~50% of the damage from the other team, or 100%?

I swear, people that autoattack the clone when the real body is in range don't understand that the damage is lower that attacking the real body.

The bigger issue is the massive duration. As an Illaoi player, I would rather have the debuff last for 3 tentacles spawned/30 seconds.

I'd rather take 100% and actually be able to concentrate on CS and only waste 20 seconds of reving and getting back to lane with more items rather than 30-60 seconds and still living.

she does too much damage as a whole i had an illaoi support. NO ITEMS. 0 ITEMS. 0 damage items. she literally deleted a katarina 25 minutes in the game with no damage items at all. she does the stupidest damage in the game.

While her E is strong/irritating if hit, we can't really nerf Illaoi without her being true and utter trash. Because she already has no rating she has every topped a 50% win rate other than a single day in Bronze where she got up to an astonishing 50.25% win rate (She has never topped a 50% win rate on any day in Normals, fyi), but in high elo she drops as far as a 40%, or even 29% one day in challenger/master, win rate fairly reliably as her day's win rate.

So you want to nerf her E? What are you buffing? Because she NEEDS buffs right now to be anything resembling competitive. Would you make it so that any CC applied to her spirits applies to the person she hit? Because that would be a buff to her, sure. It would make her compeditive probably. But would you really want that to be her buff?

If anything buffing the heal on her tentacle hits would be something i'm okay with, enforce the fact that if you fight her on her turf you're not going to come out okay.

If you miss it, it should be 10 seconds. If you make it, it should be 20 second cd.

Illaoi is turning more toxic then Riven and that is saying something*[slayer-jinx-unamused]*

Markus Vakarian1 votes

the problem is that she can't even be punished for missing ad E. if you think "ok now i go all-in"...bad mistake much more damage than a Fiora that should be the stronger duelist in the game

A tank that can actually has the ability to maintain aggro from damage dealers? OP! so OP!

I haven't really had any troubles with illaoi yet, maybe because the people that have been playing her are just bad. But I think there needs to be a little bit of a drawback to just constantly using her idol. She isn't losing anything at all for sitting there attacking an idol rather than the rest of the team. It's like some kind of sick reverse assassin that your team cannot peel off of you without leaving you at risk if you are playing a squishy
