On 10/15 I sat through 5-6 games with 3-4 mans and it was awful
Of those games, there was just 1 game where I did not have to mute the entirety of my team. That one game was very pleasant, but because it was the 5th or so game in which I'd been paired with a 3+ person team I was not as pleasant as I could have been.
Why was I unpleasant? Well, in the previous games, like in this one, I was playing ADC. It's a role that requires a team to protect you, to be near you, to give you time to work. In the other games the 3 and 4 mans decided they were playing a different game than me. My support roamed most of the game or outright shit-talked me, along with the rest of the team, and they generally decided to 3 or 4 man engage the enemy team all game. Because I didn't exist. I was not part of their group. I wasn't on their vent/curse chat/etc. And this not an isolated incident! This has been my experience with teams in general!
I haven't even started playing ranked yet, and I'm not looking forward to it if this change goes into effect. People change when they're with their friends. They become trolling assholes a disproportionate amount of the time because they're just "lol having fun" with their friends. Why does Riot want to bring this attitude to ranked, which is supposed to be a measure of individual skill in a team environment? Now it's going to become who gets the better coordinated team. Need we remind Riot that, all things being equal, being able to work with people you know and more importantly TALK to them in real time rather than type and ping is a game breaking advantage?
