My Issue with Ranked
I know this bitching and moaning about how ranked play is unfair is overdone on the boards and I apologize.
However, I'm in a ranting mood after my last game which you can read on my op.gg if you want to see. I read about a week ago someone suggested LP gain/loss should be based on individual performance. NOT on whether your team wins or not. Honestly this seems completely fair and reasonable from my perspective (maybe I'm horribly misguided and if so lemme know without ripping my face off k thankss).
With the current way LP loss/gain is done, it creates the issue we have today, the "I have to carry because I can't trust my teammates to do it" selfish mentality. Its a team game. The game should be about teamwork and working together not about the "HURR DURR WHICH TEAM GOT THE BETTER CARRY" rng bs we have now. Going off on a tangent so I'll step back for a sec.
In my last ranked game you can see that I did fairly well for the match. It was really close but a lost teamfight (we had baron AND elder when we lost too >.>) cost us the game. Me, Kench, and MF all did fairly well and, in my opinion, should be rewarded for playing well. Unfortunately because Zed and Sion did poorly (if your on the boards I don't hate you everyone has bad games this isn't a flame post better luck next time yadda yadda) which more or less cost us the game. No I'm not only referring to their KDA either.
The Sion stayed by himself on top most of the hour long game and relentlessly pushed until the opposing team came together and shredded him like butter, not even bothering to ult AWAY so his strategy could work out he simply stayed and fought them all leading to basically feeding. The Zed from what I understand was lagging pretty hard but you never know if that's just a crutch to fall on or what.
Basically I played an hour long game, played well, only to lose at the end despite it all and then because the system only cares about the winner I am punished as a player for not just picking a freelo champ and carrying every game. (I KNOW I COULD DO THIS. PLEASE DO NOT POST "HURR DURR JUST PICK A CARRY CAN'T RELY ON ANYONE YOU BRONZE PIECE OF-) I can't understand why the game does this. Especially since its a team of 5v5. You can't reasonably be expected to carry every single game you're in. Sure a diamond player could smurf into bronze and do it but I can't get to that level of skill by being trapped by the rng based "who gets the better carry" system.
Feels like I'm missing one or two points but /rant
tl;dr I think Riot should seriously consider this. I honestly would blame the current way players gain/lose elo on the current state of rampant toxicity and selfishness seen on a day to day basis playing this game.
P.S. I know I'm not good please do not go through every match on op.gg and roast me. If you see a completely out of wack build I've been experimenting with support Orianna don't hurt me I bruise easily.
and play like a complete bitch KDA farming instead of trying to win the game. Meanwhile champions who thrive from diving into the team would get the short end of the stick if your team is losing.
