Elise's Base AD Nerf (PBE nerf)
First off, let me preface this by saying that I know that my build is a niche concept altogether. However, I'm sick of the meta being ingrained into the game even further.
So, apparently Elise is doing good. Apparently so good (51% WR) that we want to hit her jungle clear speed. I get that. However, she's being further injected into the 1-tool champion niche everyone else has been lumped into. It's annoying playing a 6-spell champion (with transform as well), and the only ones allowed to be viable are her two point-and-click Q spells. Why is she shoved so fiercely in this direction?
For those not aware, the change I'm talking about is:
Base AD lowered from 50.54 to 47
Okay, it's the Vayne nerf. But why? Yeah, she had great clears and such, but she's not even allowed to play as a viable autoattacker, despite nearly having one of the strongest attack speed boosts in the game. If this were to go through, she'd go from the 15th lowest base damage down to 5th, on a champion with an AS boost and an AA damage boost, both only on melee attacks (and counterable). The only champions you could argue are worse with an AA based kit (somewhat) would be
, and one is meant to support while the other gets plenty of steroids to still deal tons of damage with autoattacks.
However, what really irks me is that they're picking from her potential physical damage again. She's already easy to counter with heavy magic focus, and is well known to have generally limited capability lategame. Why are you taking the little bit of physcal damage that she gets to hybridize her build a little with? It was bad enough when spiderlings became magic, but her AD is literally all she has left. Please stop taking this away. It is the one factor keeping her from being a 2-spell show on a 6-spell kit, and those spells are even point-and-click. Why do you do this to Elise?
Now for the unpopular part. I do use her physical damage on my Elise builds. My favorite has generally been
, and I use the heavy MS surge to deal decent amounts of damage, but mostly weave her other abilities into my gameplay to create a unique playstyle. I'm able to tank the rest of my build, allowing me to be fairly tanky despite decent damage, and i have windows where I can delete champions (albeit slower), and windows I must scurry around (like a spider) and evade the squish. This does take a toll on her early game, usually, but I've found her to be delightfully viable lategame as a flank specialist with above--average distraction and evade.
Please don't take my build from me. I'm so tired of everything becoming non-viable unless I stack MPen, or wherever the flavor is concentrated on that champ.
