Dragon Lunges vs Boar Charges vs Monkey Spins, etc

I play a lot of Shyvana, and I've noticed that pretty much any ability that knocks or stuns stops Shyvana in mid flight, including a Sej charge. I'm not saying that a flying dragon should over rule everything. But I wonder why other abilities take priority. I guess it's in the wording, but I feel like it isn't right, and most people will agree that FLYING DRAGON > anything else as far as physics are concerned. What say you, Riot?

Her ult is super underwhelming. Her ult should be ***HOLY MOTHER OF GOD IT'S A DRAGON AAAAAAAAGH ***

not

oh. hey, shyv ult down.

Mechanics aside, the transformation manages to be one of the more boring things on League, which is kind of sad.

Physics?

Vayne rolls through walls and rocks get poisoned(Malphite). Just sayin xD

Kingsgrave3/19/2015, 6:22:48 PM4 votes

Her Ult really needs to pull everyone with her and not be interruptible

Would also be nice if it did Current Health damage

I wish they would just give her some kind of cc. She's the only bruiser that lacks cc and execution.

IN SKYRIM DRAGONS FLY BACKWARDS

I think moves like that should get an "interrupt priority" stat so that we can see what stops what just by comparing the numbers.

I agree, I think Shyv ult should get the Malph treatment honestly.

But having said that, trying to argue realism in LoL is a bit silly =P

It's more entertaining when a Tristana falls out of the sky because some fat drunk guy slid into the ground 15 feet below her.

Champion Skin3/20/2015, 3:45:54 PM1 votes

The reason Shyvana loses... is because she drags people after her... so she goes over her victims before her CC hits... while other CC takes place on collision or and Wukong ult has bigger AoE then his model so he pretty much wins against all dashes and leaps

PatMcGroyn3/20/2015, 7:24:05 PM1 votes

Yeah, her ult needs to be uninterruptable. Given the state of the game, I think it would even be fair to make her R able to cleanse any CC she's affected by when she ults. Being hard to lock down and control seems pretty synonymous with being a dragon, no?

{quoted} .... and most people will agree that FLYING DRAGON > anything else as far as physics are concerned. What say you, Riot?

But Shyvana is not a Dragon.

She is a halfling, an impure blood, an abomination of the nature, an hybrid.

A half-human.

... A REAL DRAGON > anything else (.... except Smite summoner 11 .... Stupid smite...)

I really like the transformation aspect of her ult, I like the way it builds up. And I like it's not another always on form switch like Elise/Jayce/Nidalee that forces you to worry about 8 abilities. But the current bonuses during ult don't feel very satisfying.

Twin bite hitting all targets in a cone, Sounds awesome on paper, but how many clumped dragon Qs are you actually getting? And how many of those are just going to apply wits end and devourer or Botrk twice, just like your non ult form does, and then force you to go back to doing what you've been doing, mindlessly autoattack. Your abilities just don't feel like they matter in dragon form, Fire breath just serves as a means to add more shred damage for your double procs, while Fire spin is just a gapcloser and damage you'll never itemize for because your role doesn't allow for it. If anything, Dragon form firebreath should be an area slow or stun on hit instead of the same thing as usual but wider area. Give us some big fun spells to use like Gnar has.

You left out Lee Sin kicks. :)

But I agree, some champs should have immunity to CC for their ults, Zac and Shyvana (during the dive part).

Jaygo413/23/2015, 6:50:17 PM1 votes

I think the ONLY balancing reasoning that can come to mind that if it's going to be a "berserks moad" as athene would say and it's on a cooldown that fluctuates with combat then the first part of it can't really be that overwhelming...

You wanna talk underwhelming? nocturne ult.

Saianna3/19/2015, 6:53:36 PM1 votes

Her ult is lacking, but so is her "dragon breath" ability.. it should MELT FACES!

Have you seen if alistar's headbutt can do the same? I've noticed its stopped working against any dashes or jumps, it'll use the cd and mana, but it won't prevent them or even deal damage. Want to stop that jax from leap stunning your team? Too bad the headbutt didn't connect before the leapstrike started, o well.

The Paulrus3/19/2015, 8:51:33 PM1 votes

Also, left out Poppy charges. Know for a fact Alistar's knockup stops them dead.

Dreamsxord3/20/2015, 12:51:23 AM1 votes

I agree that the Ult shouldn't be interrupted since she doesn't have cc like other bruisers. The drag toward landing spot is also kind of underwhelming

Eeyore3/20/2015, 6:42:41 AM1 votes

Why? Because as far as game mechanics go: the most recent move block takes priority - i.e. dashes and airbornes. This is why you can knockup Tristana to interrupt her dash, or why Alistar can Headbutt+Pulverize. ...although, you'd think the dragon's knockback hitbox would be big enough that it should cancel Sejuani's charge and thus prevent it from knocking Shyvana out of hers... (this wouldn't solve Wukong, since his ultimate cannot be interrupted).

However, I've always believed her ultimate should make here immune to crowd control effects (like Vi, Jarvan, Nocturne, etc). Simply because, you know, SHE'S TRANSFORMING INTO A DRAGON!
