maokai rely on abilities which has very high cool down(unless u max q) with not enough burst dmg, as a melee ap tank if u cant burst trundle he can just sustain himself up by constantly aa minions.

and with frozen heart thornmail rush u should be doing 0dmg and trundle will happily destroy u with a bork and spirit visage.

just from looking at ur description i can see u are talking bullshit, full armor maokai heals for half his hp with passive? wow if someone is braindead they are totally believe u.

8 seconds isn't exactly a long cool down. You're also implying Trundle is going to reliably farm in a very shoved lane while taking high base damage harass and going oom super fast trying to fight back.

Also, you seem to forget masteries exist O_o. Grasp of the undying + maokai passive is actually very strong together. And with the meditation mastery + the frozen heart start Maokai is basically immune to ever going oom.

Also thornmail outdamages botrk, especially in synch with maokai ult + frozen heart. All Maokai has to do is peel Trundle during his W and ult and after that he has nothing while Mao continues to wittle him down with max health% Ws + high base damage qs. If Trundle retaliates he just kills himself.

If you need examples: Go watch adcs try to kill someone with thornmail. It's really quite funny.

What I've gathered from this conversation is that the Maokais you faced were silver trash, and you were just fortunate enough to use a champ a brain dead idiot can use to beat him down while he rushed a catalyst and maxd Q and used shit runes, and had no idea how Trundle himself works.
