Ahri :(

I like how they call removing deathfires + charm amp in exchange for a total of 80 extra damage a buff.

Remove around 800 damage from her kit. Give her 80 damage + movespeed buff. That's her big "compensation buff" you've been telling us about? I'm guessing Ahri is going to get a sweet legendary skin in the patch after too. That seems to be the Rito routine. Butcher champs to oblivion then try to sell skins. Oh wait . . . she just got the challenger skin. So yeah, make sales off of challenger skin, then butcher her. Sounds about right :/.

I can already tell you guys almost nobody will be playing her, and she'll just be sitting in the basement rotting away like 90% of the other champs you "improved."

To summarize Rito's balancing

Cass: Albeit she is one of the strongest champions in the game right now. She is done in such a way that hardly anybody liked, and bar none one of the only champions, aside from Nasus with a massive gate. But in the end, nothing on her was really fixed. And, she's actually just a champion with a lot of additional shit tacked onto her abilities to cover up the fact nothing was done with her, and overall actually just . . . a pile of tacked on useless fluff until 30 minutes.

Skarner: You see him once in a small eternity. Honestly borderline useless in 90% of his matches. Skarner can no longer decide if he's a tank, a dpser, a mage, a bruiser, or a feeder. What he does know is he's jungle, and his skit has been confused and random shit in his kit has been moved around so much he probably has brain damage. On top of that, the balance team eventually realized that they had no idea what they were doing, and decided to cop out and tack on a weaker Braum passive on to Skarner, make his ult require that you first kite someone for two to three attacks before ulting, or lose an extra 2 to 300 damage simply 'cause. Overall, a mistake.

Sona rework: She's been fucked with almost as much as Skarner. Nobody really knows exactly WHAT to do with Sona. So, now after months of qq from players, and head tilting from the balance team. Most sona players rush ap with offensive masteries, and declare themselves the secondary "mid" champ. Albeit, unlike the others, she sees more play, but that's due to the overall lack of supports than anything else.

Rengar: lol. Let's just not even get into that one. But, basically, nobody likes him anymore.

Eve: Honestly, this is one of the only champions that has swayed from broke to useless back to cancer, to balancedish, to then under powered, and now useless again. Her rework is interesting, but due to said interesting, they decided to gut her, and now almost nobody plays her. Again.

I'd explain more, but you guys get the memo . . . nothing good comes from reworks anymore. The days where actual balance and coordination/complexity with abilities are over. Cry if you want, but Eve's rework kit, along with Yi's flow very well.

These other reworked champs however? They have no idea what they're doing. There is no "rhythm." It's now really bad reworks with a lot of extra fluff tacked on to try and cover up the shit.

tl;dr. You're risking nobody playing her at this rate.

The big complaint is. This current "rework" actually punishes people that DID land her charm. The deathfires is whatever. I mean, yeah, that's a lot of damage GONE. But, the removal of 20% of her entire damage output additionally ((40% reduction total)) from her entire kit, in exchange for an additional 150-180 damage?

Especially when you look over to Fizz, whom despite being nerfed across the board, received all of his damage back on to his ult, making him actually potentially more bursty . . . They literally removed Ahri's, and then gave it to Fizz? That makes no sense, nor logic.

Combine that with all other buffs to ALL other "magesassins." Ahri was, without a doubt hit harder than any of the champions.

Can you still do well with her? Yes. But, she's going to fall off 40% harder than she already did. And definitely, DEFINITELY cannot compete with Zed, or any others anymore.

With her current set. You have to ask yourself . . . why pick Ahri over Swain? Come late game, Ahri truly brings nothing worth mentioning to the table that Swain can do 10x better besides run from your team dying. Kat ((until her new rework)) Despite relying on clean up does more AOE damage, more mobility, provides a much needed healing debuff, and better numbers too boot.

Ori arguably has better numbers all together once cool downs are taken into effect, better utility.

Azir provides better damage out put, with much better "kiting" if you wish to call it that by simply denying all hard engages upon him, and can technically pull an Anivia and stun an entire team into a wall.

So, other than "muh waifu" What reason is there to actually play her now?

I honestly . . . just see no reason to actually pick her anymore now.

I main Ahri and even with no DFG and Charm amp, I will still play her regardless of how much they butcher her. Ahri

theyre slowly turning every champion into the exact same thing. ahri was a unique assassin/mage hybrid, but now she's just another kite mage like orianna/xerath/ziggs/azir/karma etc.

I dunno what the purpose of using 'E' anymore unless cc'ing the enemy champ so an ally player can hit them. I never have trouble hitting with my Q, so if I might as well use the mana for the more damaging spell and the movement speed instead of charm..

sigh, she had such an great niche before with the damage amp, now she's just another boring throw something spell somewhere for something something damage blahblah

To be fair though, none of those champs are named "Zed," "Lee Sin" or "Thresh."

All Riot needs is their #LC$BigPlays champs and anyone else just crowds them out.

Ahri's strength is in her ability to easily deal true damage and safely poke in the laning phase. Removing the DFG doesn't take as much from her as you think. She'll have to pick her fights late game more wisely, which means she can no longer own Gragas in a 1v1 late game.

You're right, the DFG removal isn't THAT bad, but removing it in addition to charm amp is a very big deal.

Honestly I never used DFG on Ahri and I was always bad at landing charm anyways. Am I going to stop playing her? No. I'll just revert back to her old, more mage like playstyle and enjoy my movespeed on q and more reliable damage numbers. :)

I actually like this. It's a step back in the right direction. I loved the kite mage archetype ahri provided since release until they pigeon-holed her into a bursty assassin role. I played her today not knowing she was changed and felt so pleased... it was like a deja vu from s2. So so satisfying.

You're free to disagree I can't help you with that but this playstyle fits me better, I was never a fan of the dfg ahri.

They can balance numbers the important thing is it feels good to play.

edit: Honestly, they could just simply revert her back to release stats. I feel that would have been awesome, though the speed buff on Q feels good somehow.

They can balance numbers

The current Riot balance team never hands out buffs. If they do give Ahri more damage, it'll be a very small amount at the cost of a huge nerf elsewhere in her kit. Thus has been proven time and time and time and again.

You might want to reconsider... I think they'll end up nerfing her... She's got 60,61% winrate in euw soloq diamond elo with a 27% pick rate... it basically jumped from around 50 to 60 from 27th... Same with across the board in all elos and all regions.. it's about 57%... I don't know why because her damage is theoretically lower but this isn't looking good. http://www.lolking.net/champions/ahri&region=euw&map=sr&queue=1x1&league=diamond#statistics

I love kite mage Ahri, I just wish more damage was put into her W, and E's mana cost scaled with level.

You forgot for Skarner that after the mana changes he went from a mana hungry jungler to a full on blue magic guzzling machine. I never take Skarner out with a mid laner who uses mana, and if I pick before mid I tell them right off the bat that they should pick an energy champ. You did hit his passive right on the head it is so much of a let down at times especially early when the stun is so low.
