WE WANT A SOLO QUEUE.

WE WANT A SOLO QUEUE IN ALL TIERS.dynamic queue is a fun queue for casual players but the worst possible ranked queue riot could have thought of.is there a point in a rank that doesnt represent your abilities in the game? 1.dynamic queue favors premades. 2.dynamic queue creates unbalanced teams. 3.dynamic queue shuts down communication between teamates who are not premades. 4.dynamic queue creates horrible queue wait times. 5.dynamic queue makes the ranked queue more casual and kills the competitiveness in the lower tiers of the game. 6.a competitive queue should be promoting sportsmanship between premades and non premades 7.a competitive queue should promote communication between premades and non premades Edit: a lot of players came in and said:the problem is that there are not many players who pick support. of course there arent,as someone who used to play support too in solo queue dynamic queue doesnt promote solo players picking support.A queue in which players pick support to play a match with a fair matchmaking and low queue wait times has obviously failed.Honestly in solo queue most people wouldnt mind going support,of course there were people that dodged but for the most part you knew that your teamates were on your level and not some randoms.I have seen more support brands and luxes the past 2 days than i had seen the entire last season

I agree with everything except #4. Not sure if it really creates longer queue times.

I quit playing LoL about a month ago because of DQ and the horrible matchmaking that comes with it. I hope they bring back solo queue. I'll start playing again if they do.

Idk, if at plat 5 a ranked game takes 9-12 minutes to queue up for at 8 in the evening there's a problem.

RoodToob3 votes

Thats not DQ though, thats the new champ and role select.

Adding Solo Queue (while keeping DQ, I'm assuming, as thats what most who want solo have said, i don't play enough ranked to care either way personally) will make your queue times worse as it splits the player base in two. Imagine half the supports in your games. Queues will double, probably more as bot laners queue together a decent amount.

Im not for or against SQ, i just need to point that out

LatetotheRace3 votes

No the role selection has done nothing to increase times. Nonuniform group sizes with roles that vary only slightly have caused queue times. That and MMR gaps trying to be thrown together to make some semblance of balance. Dq as a whole was a fun idea, but it's just a tragic mess.

DeathBurst1 votes

The role selection, and specifically the lack of people picking Support in that role selection, is responsible for the immense majority of the queue times.

LatetotheRace2 votes

No, the dwindling ranked player-base is what's adding longer queue times.

RoodToob1 votes

dwindling player base? numbers have gone up. its all smurfs you say? Here :

this guy will explain it much better than i can https://www.reddit.com/r/leagueoflegends/comments/4vswoj/the_state_of_the_game_august_2016/

LatetotheRace2 votes

Objections 1 and 3 sum it up perfectly. "there's nothing that suggests that this year is any more smurf-heavy than last year." This is either ignorance or him just being uninformed on the subject. Remember a few months ago... when riot cut the 1-30 leveling process in half? I think that probably had a SERIOUS impact on the amount of bots/smurfs. I personally am in the middle of lvling a smurf and I have met possibly 1 new player from levels 1-16.

I don't even know why he tried to deny the third point though, he made it very clear in his explanation what's actually happening but he simply chose to ignore it. It's seriously bizarre why he thinks the player-base is increasing.

Bopn2 votes

you are technically correct but the reality is that nobody would play dynamic ranked if there were to be a solo ranked ladder so the que times would be fine for the solo ladder.

RoodToob1 votes

thats half right. In the event of people swapping queues for solo queue, DQ times would go up more than SQ times. That doesnt mean SQ times wouldn't go up, as people would still play DQ, but to a potentially lesser degree.

Theres also no real evidence to prove that DQ would become unpopular. Decent amounts of people play as premades

Swooshter3 votes

While the new champ select would increase queue times, DQ increases it even more and probably to a higher degree. Think of a group of 3 players that queue together. Finishing that team is easy as you can take a duo or two solos. However, matching that team now becomes an issue. Sure, you can match it was 5 solo players easy enough, but the system is theoretically designed to match it with another 3 man pre-made team. So matching is highly dependent on how many pre-made groups are looking for a match vs how many solos are. A pure solo queue would remove the pre-made matching portion of the wait time.

DeathBurst2 votes

The vast majority of the queue time is simply waiting to find a Support. Matching teams is peanuts, as long as you have a Support. Make the test, queue as any combination of numbers and roles. As long as you have a Support in your premade, no matter if you are 3 or 4 players, no matter if you wanna go mid and top or bot and jungle: if you have a Support, it's almost instantaneous.

Technically it should create longer que times because of having to account for more people (or should I say, batches/groups of people).

It is easy to keeping adding 1 till you hit 5, because it doesn't require any extra outside work. Conversely if you try to add 2 you cannot get to 5 only using increments of 2 alone.

Hope that makes sense, it is a bit hard to explain.

Math is hard.....

General Esdeath 2 votes

It has longer times. It tries to match premades with solo players more often.

DeathBurst1 votes

Yes, it does try to do that, but no this doesn't significantly increase the queue times. The main bottleneck is the lack of Supports, the other factors are negligible.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Even in higher elo, where there are dedicated support mains, it has long times.

DeathBurst1 votes

There is still a lack of support. The problem is not that there is or isn't "dedicated mains", the problem is that there is less than 20% people picking Support.

General Esdeath 2 votes

Don't forget they have autofill.

DeathBurst1 votes

Which only kicks in when queue timers are already too long anyway, so, what's your point?

General Esdeath 1 votes

If queue times are too long because of supports being short, then there shouldn't be a problem with autofill.

DeathBurst1 votes

There is not enough people playing support, then queue timers are long, then auto-fill is enabled... How in hell should lack of supports prevents problems with auto-fill?

Plus, I don't know what you call "higher ELO", but in higher ELO, premades have been mostly restricted, so I really don't see how invoking higher ELO helps you proving that premades are causing long queue times. They don't have premades, and they do have long queue times, so you're kind of proving my point for me...

General Esdeath 2 votes

I didn't say it prevents it, but it stops the timers from going to their old times (30 minute queue times at challenger)

PixTron4 votes

They already brought Solo Q back. Plus, the dynamic Q side brings a separate ranking, so I think it's fair enough.

Also, Dynamic Q brought in much shorter Q times.

General Esdeath 8 votes

Solo queue isn't back. It will be a thing in diamond+ next season. And the queue times are longer. You ever watch higher elo people? Times there are twice as long, while in gold/plat it's 150% as long as it used to be.

RoodToob1 votes

Its already here for Diamond+. Next season they will just add different ladders so your ladder shows others that play solo, not a mix.

The queue times are based on the new champ select. All indications seem to show more people play ranked than before, thus queues should be down compared to S5. the fact that you select roles is what makes queues long, not DQ

General Esdeath 4 votes

It's already here? I thought they weren't going to make major changes during the season. And if I'm correct, it's the same queue next season. I'm still playing with premades. It's the sticker of shame all over again. And we knew roles would increase time, but it shouldn't be by this much. Even fill options are taking longer.

AMYS GRAVE7 votes

Next season they will just add different ladders so your ladder shows others that play solo, not a mix.

But you will still be queued up with and against premades. Literally nothing changes.

RoodToob1 votes

I never said it did change, i just stated it was here for diamond+. I don't play enough ranked to agree or disagree with either side of this DQ/SQ thing, just pointed it out

Jeanne fan club1 votes

solo q is already in diamond+ , technically its solo/duo, but its the same shit we had last season. And saying it like 150% makes you look like you have an agenda, just say its 2-4 minutes on average.

https://gyazo.com/eec5e68edbc087eb9a472473968dcb4b

General Esdeath 3 votes

I can't say 2-4 because it's not as true. In Silver I had queue times of 5 minutes and in gold I'm getting 7-10 minutes.

Jeanne fan club1 votes

Ah, I'm just going of anecdotal evidence, I very VERY rarely have a time over 4 minutes. When I queue for support I only get a 30-120 second wait. And that's in Diamond too.

General Esdeath 2 votes

THAT'S SUPPORT THEY'RE IN HIGH DEMAND HHHHHHHHHHHHHH

1.3k games.... Sounds like he has experience and knows what he is talking about. I mean a challenger with 10 games (I know it is not possible but just imagine it is) would not be a credible source as he has 0 experience in the game on the other hand a bronze 1 player that has been playing since lets say season 3 and has over 4k games over all.... That is a more credible source.

King of Mongoose2 votes

lmao what

Kingdom Corn3 votes

experience>rank is what i am saying.

King of Mongoose3 votes

and rank reflects experience

Pakku Ito 4 votes

Since when does a rank reflect experience o.o Like why is it necessary to be in Plat and above just to say I have a lot of experience ? A friend of mine who started playing last season hardcore climbs the ladder 24/7 and is in Plat 1 atm. When I queue up with him in normals I sometimes ask myself how he even got above Silver (and he didnt get boosted). To be serious here, the whole ladder is inflated with people who have 0 experience in the game but think they have a extra pair of pants on and think they deserve Challenger. But who am I to talk, I'm just a casual Silver 4 player :D

Smalltomahawker2 votes

eh....... haha .... eh hold on there buddy. First like you said no way someone could be challenger with 10 games played. But if they could I would totally take their opinion over anyone in bronze any day. Numbers of games really does not mean that much. I honestly look at the more games someone has played the worse they are. Its not really true either way but achieving a rank with much less games played is more impressive than having many games played.

If you have 10k games played and were in bronze I would look at you as the worst player in league history (and most stubborn for trying not to change).

That's like saying you would take my opinion over a legit low plat or diamond player because I have played a lot of games. I may have 3 accounts in gold 4... but I only know the game up to around that level. I have not experienced dynamic queue like the players in diamond or master and no number of games I play in gold would change that. Would my experience be greater than that of someone in bronze or silver with same number of games played? Probably. But at a certain point skill/rank start meaning much more than number of games played unless only measuring something like number of times you see a certain champion played. But that would even need to be broken down by rank since less # of players and games at higher ranks.

Jeanne fan club2 votes

First off, Plat is just bronze. I spent most of my season in plat. I can assure you, most plat players are just meta sheep who are so desperate to get diamond, they resort to any mean except for getting better themselves. Also, having 1.3k games in plat 5 does not mean they know more. A player with only 500 games, ranging from bronze to masters would have much more experience, considering the spectrum of skill levels they would encounter.

Canidae1 votes

There's a much stronger correlation between rank and experience, than games played and experience. To put it in other terms, a player with more games played is more likely to have had more exposure to different situation and tactics and can draw an opinion based on the information given. A player with a higher rank but fewer games played likely has had less experience in such, but in those fewer games the player was able to react appropriately to find a solution and climb the ladder as a result.

more games means ur exposed to more problems; higher rank means that U know how to fix them.

Dynamic Q is getting removed and Solo Q is coming back, just in a different format.

Riot listened to us.

The pain will be over soon.

BonkMonk5 votes

As far as I understood: Dynamic queue stays for anything under diamond. Simply said, they just glorified the badges.

Yes, you can queue as solo and as a 2-5 mans team, but under the hood everyone will still all fall under the same matchmaking system: The solos will get dynamically matched with the ppl that queue up as a premade. The difference is that you get a different division name(hence glorified badge system), bases on how you queued.

correct me if I'm wrong or add more clarification to what has been described.
