Kindred feast or feed

I noticed kindred has received yet another buff to her stacking and scaling with stacking. I understand the use of "mini games" champions hold but none of them follow quite as much of a flawed design philosophy as kindred. I believe the The first time I hear the term "feast of feed" it was in refrence to skarner befor his rework since alit of his damage was tied up in his shield meaning if he was doing well he was unstoppable and if he was doing badly he was worthless. I loved the changes on him due to the clear reason he did poorly and the simple fixes used to change it. Because of skarner's simple fix I have for a long time assumed that kindred would swiftly receive similar treatment since in my experience playing as and against them is very "feast or feed".

As I see it their are 2 very simple paths that would fix up kindred, while retaining theme, and 1 reason she is so "feast or feed". The one reason she is suffering is she is made double reliant on kills; Kills already help you out a lot obviously but kindred needs those kills or super assists just to have damage that isn't below the needed thresholds. This means when you have a good game with kindred you will have a really good game since you are essentially doubling up on the efficiency of getting a kill. The only two champions that have stacking that works based on kills are Viegar & cho'gath, that has alot to due with both those champions not needing their stacks to be strong and also letting them play the say, but long game by relying on none-champion based stacking. I like to compare cho'gath to kindred more since both stack 6 times on minions and monsters before having to rely on champion or epic monster kills. Kindred falls short because she does not get one immediately rewarding stat she earns 3 minimally rewarding future stats. This has a lot to due with kindred having to mark the target they are going to kill ahead of time while cho hits R, and kindred has to hit milestones for her rewards to be noticeable. So this long one weakness segways into her two obvious fixes from my standpoint. First idea give her minion and monster milestones that equal a stack, like ever 75 minions equals one stack + make epic monsters worth more than one stack. Second Idea make the stacks only buff attack range while also making it incremental instead of milestone. This is my favorite since the whole reason I play most stacking champions is to feel like one thing I am doing is over the top. EX getting 1000+ so on viegar or have 8000 max GO as cho'gath than doubling it with gargoyals plate.

TL;DR: kindred has too many stats tied to her getting kills making her feel exceptionally weak when not getting kills and exceptionally strong when getting fed, easy fix is make safe, but longer stacking a thing or make her stacking only effect one stat like her attack range while her other stats or okay by themselves.

WAAAAAAY too much stuff so huge TL;DR on ends here.

If you recalled her 'original' design had her passive revolve around her getting on hit bonus in % current hp damage with her autos, which had nothing else tied to it, but clearly despite the fact she could of had a ridiculous late game once she had enough stacks, she had to be tuned all over the place, from gaining base dmg on her Q and so on to the current state which gives her 'overall' bonuses at threshold stacks, which fits alot better since it ties her kit to her passive while making her able to lean less on attack speed and item 1416 rushing since her Q will provide the burst after a few stacks and go into over drive after 'moderate or high amount of stacks'.

Granted i feel like she could use a tad bit more 'use' on the per rank skills since beyond her Q, she isn't getting much in the department for her W, E or even her R not really serving much purpose except being a delayer or force a stand off against an opponent or even save an ally if done right.

Your 'first idea' is technically already covered by the jungle minion mark grabs but that really needs to be skewed to the first few stacks being in her jungle or the crab and not have as soon as the 2nd jungle mark is out, she has to invade a risky target like raptors (which besides specific champions, are never good to deal with in early game, especially the enemy's jungle raptors), plus a concept like kill X minions= 1 stack is basically under the presumption that Kindred is a ADC, which she is not, she is a jungle marksman and forcing her on a tick counter like a Sion Nasus Draven Veigar would just be utterly ruining her and they would have to gut her and turn her into a plain old ADC with most of her kit vanishing if they turned her into a marksman version of Nasus (last hit enemies, stack till able to nuke worthy).

Your 2nd idea is basically utter trash just on the first sentence alone. An incremental increase to ""ONLY"" her AA range would basically just be reverting her rework back to before but instead of % current health autos, she's just get small range increases and be a very vanilla damage stick with no proper cc measures, innate tankiness, engage or even measures to harass a enemy beyond regular old auto pokes. It helps that her other abilities also get range boosts, her Q gets a attack speed boost per stack and W and E gets some % health bonus damage they can deal per stack, extra bonus to the crit scaling on E which ups that 'crit threshold' that you can use with the E ability.

Plenty of things kindred really could use such as maybe some Q per rank attack speed so she has some initial burst without getting perfect stacks every time she marks a target or a jungle minion pops up maybe some impact on her R with the stacks (increases the healing allies receive per stack[not to enemies] maybe to let it become a dangerous choice for opponents to 'stand on it' with the enemy team or quickly walk away when kindred casts it and likely canceled out the damage from a bunch of abilities being tossed at her(since health thresholds cant break under a certain amount while on the R mark).

But for now we'll just have to let Riot slowly bring Jungle Waifu & pet Wulf into a state to make her really stand out. Granted the changes will at least give alot more impact early on (Ex. 40 'stacks' would grant +75 with the remaining 36 being 36/3=12 times 25= +300 range instead of 36/4= 9 times 25= 225 range, ultimately not a 'huge' increase but still result in much larger range earlier on).

Oh did you forget they are 'doubling' the % current hp dmg on E from .5% per mark to 1% per mark? Even at the first milestone of 4 marks, that means 5.5% current hp on top of the base so just throwing out Wolf while near a enemy and hitting them with E for the slow is likely going to let 3 to 4 hits of that to go off plus your auto attacks and the E proc which got a base of 20 damage across the board [which ain't including the missing health bonus it can fire off at 8% no stacks, 4 marks bringing that up to 10% missing health].

At the very least if your laning ally is good at CC or just strong slow harass then Kindred can at least pull off alot of damage burst, its just more of a issue on getting the first stepping stones to get it to actually start flowing.'
