Its been a little over 12 months since the Akali rework and balancing still hasn't gotten her right.
Akali's reworked self was released on August 1st 2018. Since then, she has been notoriously known for being unstable, balancing wise. The balancing team has made numerous changes throughout the year and another nerf was just scheduled for 9.18. Here is how many times Akali has appeared in a patch, and how many times she has been nerfed or buffed. It is also important to read this with the mindset of how unstable she is, not about how good or bad she is. This post is about her being too hard for riot to handle.
Akali's appearances in patches (since rework)... 10 Nerfs to Akali... 20 Buffs to Akali... 22
Note that i counted only balance changes, not bug fixes, when accounting for appearances and nerfs/buffs, she has appeared numerous times in patches for bug fixes alone, but i did not count them.
For reference, lets compare Akali's patch history to another reworked assassin, Evelynn. (same note applies).
Evelynn's appearances in patches (since rework)... 8 Nerfs to Evelynn... 6 Buffs to Evelynn... 11
Evelynn's rework was released 15 months before Akali's, yet she has had way less work done on her kit.
Riot and the balancing team dosent understand how to balance Akali, which is fine, but they are creating more disappointment, anger, and backlash by continuing this trend of constantly changing Akali. She has struggled for about 10 months to be above a 50% win rate in diamond and above ranks. I am a diamond 4 mid lane main that prodomently plays Akali, Kat, and Qiyana, and the changes are too constant for EVERYONE to handle. What can they do to fix this? in my opinion rework her once again, and for an even simpler answer, revert her, although pre-rework Akali was very simple and rather basic, but she was far more balanced and easier to handle than current Akali. Fell free to disagree, but if you do, come up with another solution, because the one riot thinks is working...isn't.
