Every time i see this champ, on my team or enemy, he goes absolutely apeshit and carries the game 1 v 9.

I didnt think he was that op until recently its gotten to where if he's not banned, he's gonna get picked (or so it feels like)

Am i just retarded and dont know how to play vs kass?

Or is he op and deserves a nerf of some sort

Man this is why assassins will always be shit, if one assassin does decent he will be hated by everyone, kassadin is an anit-mage if you choose a ad pick his passive doesnt apply and he gets stomped in lane.

A long half season ago.... Riot invented lethality that gave flat armor pent based on the amount of lethality + enemy's based level armor. Mid and jungle assassins were a thing Katarina Leblanc Rengar Khazix Talon Zed . OP champions mid and junglers that used to be good half a season then Fizz Yasuo MasterYi LeeSin were at the assassins' and lethality's mercy. Even easy to play mages Ahri Annie Lux Syndra got destroyed.

Many adcs Ashe Caitlyn Ezreal KogMaw Vayne where no match for the meta except for the few MissFortune Jhin Varus Twitch and yes even Draven dominated bot lane cause of leathality and old warlords.

Slowly the meta began to shift. Rengar, the broken rework, then got nerf. item 3142 item 3147 item 3814 got their lethality stats nerf from 20 to 15. Zed and Talon were no longer the god tiers of mid and adcs that built lethality were also affected by the nerfs and longer bursted the non-lethality adcs. And with crit items getting reduce total cost, few of them got buff, allowing crit champions to return. As for Kat and Leblanc, Kat got her abilities nerf by increasing the cooldowns on her abilities. As for Leblanc, Riot nerf her W damage to the ground and was no longer the dominant Mage mid laner she once dominated since her release.

It was then the meta was returning to balance state. LeeSin gained god annoying immortality, Fizz got buff, the Korean man in black Lucian is now the most broken adc item 3153 item 3071 until the new patch comes out. More players are going back to AP mid and Korea unleash the secret Void and brought Kassadin back into game.

And that's why Kassidin is shitting people in this meta. But if I missed something that was important, add a side story in the comments, but make it informational.

He got some small buffs recently and more people have been playing him, which is probably the reason you noticed him now. He was decent before the buffs, and many people are just finding out now that he wasn't so bad. The buffs were minor and he is definitely not OP, but he is a strong pick. His early game sucks and his late game is amazing so you just have to abuse his early lane phase, because like quite a few other hypercarrys he will hard carry if he reaches lategame. Also, counterpicks are a bit more extreme with Kassadin than with a lot of other champions. Because of his poor laning phase some champions can really shut him down (like anivia), but there are some champions he really just dumpster once he reaches level 6 too (like viktor), so make sure you choose a champion that can stand up to Kassadin. If you really don't want to play against him just ban him. Otherwards, you can counterpick Kassadin (If you're not in midlane, just play someone with CC), abuse his early game and try to win fast, CC him in teamfights, as he is really reliant on dodging stuff with his ult and will die pretty easily if he is locked down, and buy MR, as kassadin's burst is fast and if he can't kill you in a single rotation you can usually live.

Yes Kass is too strong right now. Your only options for beating him are picking Talon, Jayce or Panth, and setting him behind while roaming to win other lanes. His early game just isn't as weak as it should be given how hard he scales.

Pick Talon/Zed/Yasuo/Kha midlane and he's fucked. Yes, even Kha mid works vs this guy, in fact anything AD works vs him. Saw a Kassadin face a Caitlyn mid once, the poor dude had 9 CS by the 10 minute mark and his turret was gone lol

He is weak pre 6, strong after, and an absolute monster post 11. Camp him (or get the jungler to) and shut him down. He is alot like Yi, he has tremendous scalings on ALL of his abilities. He his an ap hyper carry. HE WILL MAKE LATE GAME A NIGHTMARE

kass is akali tier pre 6 you should be destroying him

AwesomeGuyDj5/21/2017, 11:40:17 PM1 votes

Probably. He's so good against ap laners that its recommended you start darkseal against them

Colgate Gator5/22/2017, 3:05:26 PM1 votes

He's considered to be somewhat strong right now, yeah.

Take it from a guy who has been playing Kassadin since before the buffs, he was always like this. Only difference is lethality isn't strong anymore and Kass is the only champ that doesn't get ass-blasted by Ahri. If you want to beat him play any AD midlaner.

p.s. his winrate dropped again after the most recent change to his E

Just to note,Kassadin countering mages, shouldn't make the mages feel like shit.

I might be biased because I used to main him, but I really don't see the Issue with Kassadin right now. According to http://www.leagueofgraphs.com/champions/stats/kassadin/all his global winrate in mid is 50.3% and his winrate in Diamond+ is 50.4%.

I'm seeing people complaining about him having a 54% winrate, but the stats indicate otherwise. The only people I can see hitting a 54% or higher winrate on him are the people that have played a ton of games on him, and it is pretty normal for experts on a champion to win more on them. Just look at Ivern; The average winrate for someone that has 100+ games on him is 60% and I don't see nearly as many complaint threads about him on here as I see for Kassadin.

He has a slightly higher than 50% winrate (~50.4%). He's fine.
