Kick people in Champ select

It sucks to get these people ("mid or feed") in game, them not get the role, and then be forced to either dodge and suffer, or play and suffer with them. It would be fantastic to have a system that let players kick someone in champ select if this came up. Like if 4 members of a team vote to boot someone cus they are obv trolling, then it gives them the 5 min timeout and reQ's everyone else. There is a duo? If one of the duo partners is being voted for then their duo doesn't count as a vote. Simple as that. It's super annoying to be punished for not wanting to play with a troll.

This is such a basic and obvious solution to one of the longer term problems in the game. Yes its theoretically open to some small amount of abuse. Then again, so is the reporting system and riot loves that, so that doesn't seem like much of an argument against it.

Implementing it is pretty trivial: 4 votes against a player, he's kicked, next person in the queue is inserted and the game continues. I'm not sure it matters if you restart the pick/ban phase or not, but that's pretty easy to try both ways.

By far the most common arguments against I see being brought up are the idea of premades abusing it in which case you don't implement it in modes where premades are possible. I'm not sure why it wouldn't be ranked only anyway. And lets be honest, if you had 4 people in a premade who wanted to hurt you, them votekicking you is probably the least annoying way they could do it.

The other thing is some vague concern about "off meta" special and unique snowflakes. But you know what? This isn't a singleplayer game. You load up a game of skyrim and you can choose any random set of special talents you want and play how you like. But if you're playing on a team, especially in a ranked setting, you owe something to the rest of your team: specifically trying to win. If you can't convince 4 other strangers that whatever you're doing is likely to help win them the game, I don't think the problem is with them or the system being implemented, it's with you.

Its not like this game doesn't have tons of places to play 'off meta' picks. If you want to play ad zac, go play vs bots, or in custom games or normals or whatever.

And just to make the point clearer, being votekicked from a game is not exactly the end of the world. I don't think anyone is suggesting associating a major penalty for it, just drop you out of the queue and maybe prevent re-queuing for a minute or two so you don't get back in the same game. You can join a new game and try to convince those dudes that your ad jungle heimer is the way of the future.

I can see some cases of abuse, such as people playing "off-meta" (as in, not actually breaking the meta but something that doesn't follow the meta like law, such as playing something that isn't a tank or bruiser top lane, or an assassin/mage jungler) and being punished for it (and there are some assholes people who report for that already, even if they don't break rules or don't feed).

Otherwise, I think it's mostly a decent idea. I mean, if four people voted to kick you out because you wanted to play something that isn't common, would you want to deal with them in-game anyway?

Um. Well, +1... but I made this exact same idea a few weeks ago and got downvoted to oblivion.

I would love this. I just had anexpereince where i had to dodge in ranked because a troll wanted to Vayne Jungle

Or just remove the dodge penalty altogether.

I will upvote every single one of these I see until it happens.

"Sometimes we don't win games because of our team mates, we win in spite of them"

something a buddy of mine said recently when we had a feeder go top and we still won the game.

No, what we need is a mod system where we can call in a mod if someone just blatantly says they're going to feed or troll. That way we can't just have people booted by players.

I would love to see this implemented for Twisted Tree and Damien Only. Like they said if you wanted to play something different or just wanted to play the Non LCS champs this option would destroy lives. We already have smirfs, we don't need them shot calling to kick someone. Worst is if 1 person remembered your name and started "KICK the feeder." When really you just had a bad game/match up. However this option would be wonderful in Dominon and Twisted Tree because of the constant bot swarming the maps.

Practically when you KNOW it's a bot and are powerless to stop it.

How to deal with abuse? Simple

You may only initiate a vote kick once every X number of games. done. no more abuse.

Dedrius6/13/2015, 4:03:40 PM1 votes

What would happen once the player is kicked? Would that player lose LP? Would the game be disbanded?

There are some things you have not thought about like the questions above that could have a big impact.

PROS - No more troll picks, no more trolling, no more (or-I-feed) ultimatums, no more "GG" as soon as the game loads, improve player behavior

CONS - Abuse

Now what I have to say about the abuse is that it will not be nearly as detrimental as trolling and bad picks are to the game now. I'm speaking specifically on ranked, though. For as many people that are saying this would be abused, we could just assume that they wouldn't be the ones to abuse it. With that said, you can't assume that the majority of people who are for this implementation would abuse it. If I saw someone pick something iffy, I would call them out first. If they were not convincing enough then perhaps I would vote to kick them. We have a chat-system, don't forget.

I think people are a little TOO cynical, assuming that this will end up getting them kicked out of every other queue. I'm so much more than positive that the abuse of this system would not be as bad as you may think, and you'd probably end up liking it overall. And besides, if you were to get wrongly vote-kicked out of a queue, you'd probably say to yourself "thank god I don't have to play with those A-holes..."

4 people to kick someone out?

This is just going to give power to troll duos.
