I don't mind Ornn being unkillable..

What annoys me is the fact that he can deal 1000 damage in a split second time with close to 0 counterplay, he is supposed to be a tank, not to deal immense amounts of damage

the weird thing about Ornn being OP is that his passive thing where can buy items anywhere is actually really strong, he's uh, logically, he shouldn't even be kind of strong because of that. Ornn's in a really weird place right now.

I think Riot wanted Ornn to have a strong laning phase even with that passive because outside of lane his CC is harder to apply in a teamfights than Maokai or Nautilus.

he was a meme of a top laner before these runes came out if im not mistaken

he was just bad.

People kept saying he was weak after he would get buffed, so he got buffed until he was just completely broken.

was pointing out the only change to the passive was a QoL change so teammates wouldnt spend 4k gold on an item and be out damaged by someone who bought 1 item and boots

I like how he is the tankiest champ in the game, and also is on the top5 list of highest average damage champs.....WHILE BUILDING LITERALLY ZERO DAMAGE ITEMS.

Totally reasonable. good balance, nothing wrong.

he has alot of issues in his kit and all, but i personally think the biggest and worst issue with him is how long the W debuff lasts on you, before i go on a long rant about that, ill just get straight to my point and say that while the 'brittle' debuff is on you, you cant get close to him without being heavily punished, more than anything it turns his W into a super long lasting zoning tool against good players and against bad players its just a shit load of extra damage. The best thing i can compare it to is Yasuo back when he had 10 seconds to cast his tornado, you were zoned away from him for a full 10 seconds, and they nerfed that down to 6 seconds and it instantly made it much easier to play against a yasuo without making yasuo any worse (yasuo has other problems, but for the sake of my analogy lets pretend thats not the case)

I love yasuo. Nothing like watching midlaners cry and blame their team for not ganking enough.

sadaiblast1 votes

heh... alot of people are downvoting ya for saying that XD

but in reality, what is it that you hate about him?

Zed genius2 votes

i don't think he is getting downvoted for that, i think it's more because it's completely irrelevant to the topic of the post

sadaiblast2 votes

eh, fair enough, but i mean my analogy is still kinda right about ornn's current state, no?

Side note: while agree with what you said

the 6 second nado was a huge nerf that crippled mid lane yasuo

riot didn't account for the Hidden Cool down with yasuo ( being he cannot cast Q while it is on cool down ) so its actually a lot shorter then 6 seconds ( if im not mistaken )

if yasuo doesnt go in while NAdo is ready he wastes it and if forced to Q the wave to get it again pushing the enemy laner in making him easier to gank which he already had trouble with dealing ( which is why 0/5 yasuo isnt uncommon when the enemy jungler knows what they are doing ).

shorting the window forces yasuo to play hyper aggressive allowing him to outplay himself constantly. Its like if riot wanted to buff ADC's by making them deal more damage the closer they are.

it actively rewards you for something that is very clearly bad from a mechanical standpoint.

??

Dont even ask me how i fucked that up.

sadaiblast1 votes

Yeah, you are correct in these terms, but since this post is about ornn i think ill have to hold off on talking about yasuo here, but if you really want to talk about this more i can see what i can do for ya :)

The only issue with Ornn, is him auto winning lane vs pretty much every melee. Between his w, having insane hitbox and britle mark lasting 6 seconds, you only have like two seconds to trade with him, before he gets his cds back.

I personally suggest, changing mark duration from 6 to 4 seconds, and he would be, pretty balanced imo.
