In laning phase, what are you supposed to actually do against him? This isn't meant as a QQ thread, I'm just genuinely confused and seeking to learn. I played against him as Gragas top a little while ago, and I admit that I felt somewhat helpless; all-in didn't work, and when I tried to harass he just used E. Any general advice, or was Gragas vs Yorick just a bad matchup for me?
I used him a lot in Season 3. Gragas is generally a mediocre pick against him. The idea is to let him farm, and farm well yourself and aim to outscale him. If you want to be aggressive, it needs to be levels 1 - 4 when he has the least mana sustain and can't continue to harass you and last hit effectively. If you don't kill him by lvl 5, then aim to kill the rest of his team.
Not a whole hell of a lot. That's why he's been deliberately undertuned so people don't pick him.
In my experience (I mained yorick waaaaaay back in season 3), he does very well against most champs but falls off late. Generally speaking, the best thing to do is to punish him when he goes in for harass. Having a relatively short range, longer range (perhaps unconventional) top laners tend to do quite well against him. But if you REALLY want to punish him, pick nasus. Killing his ghouls with Q WILL stack it, and Nasus's kit overall pretty much straight counters yorick. Hope this helps :)
Id have to agree With what everyone has said here playing nasus really makes laneing against yorick easy and i can see where gragus would have alot of issues with yorick, you try to belly slam in and he drops a goul quickly and stops you half way threw, would be really annyoing
