I'm planning to play my ranked placement matches with a platinum player ( i'm silver 2 right now ) when the elo reset happens. if i win most of my games i win most my games, will that bump me up higher because i proved that i can play with higher ranked players? Dont tell me i'm going to get wrecked just answer the question.

Yes you would be placed higher, but your plat friend would be placed lower. The system will probably match you up with golds.
