Would it be possible for Mordekaiser's Creeping Death to....

Be used on wards?

Now for those that don't play him (or stop playing him after his changes) lets review what this skill does.

*Mordekaiser creates a protective cloud of metal shards to surround an ally unit and himself for 6 seconds, increasing the target's and Morderkaiser armor and magic resistance and dealing magic damage each second to enemies within 250-range.

Mordekaiser and his ally gain 60 movement speed when running toward each other.*

Now why should this be allow on wards?

REASON 1: DAMAGE SHIELD

Consider the following scene:

item 2043 Ow..ow..why are you hitting me?

LeeSin Cause you can see when I can't. So I am going to kill you.

item 2043 NOOOOO!!!!

Such a terrible fate for that ward. But if Mordekaiser could cast his Creeping Death on the wards then players have to make a choice: Do I keep hitting the ward while being damage or move away until the shield passes?

Now let us consider that last scene but with this change.

LeeSin I'm going to kill you

item 2043 NOOOOOO!!!!!

LeeSin Ow..what the..Ow..where this shield come from? I don't have time for this. leaves

item 2043 Thank you for saving me Mordekaiser.

Mordekaiser** huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue**

REASON 2: MOVEMENT SPEED BOOST

Now we all know that Mordekaiser is not the fastest of champs. (He is a big suit of metal), but since this ability grants him movement speed, it can help him escape ganks/chases. For example:

JarvanIV Prepare to die Mordekaiser.

Mordekaiser **Crap crap crap. Oh a ward. Now I can speed up. **

JarvanIV Darn. He got out of my EQ range. What the..the metal spinning around here must be a ward. item 3364

item 2044 Hello.

JarvanIV DIE!!!!

item 2044 Noooo!!!!

Mordekaiser ** huehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehuehue**

As you can see, the change to Creeping Death is a small change but can help Mordekaiser out quite a bit. So I ask? Would this be possible to do?

^ up voted this; even though you didn't mention Teemo once. (Read rules for etiquette on the left sidebar; I had a good laugh when I saw that.)

On that note, I guess it's good to mention that you can already do something similar to this with a stealthed Teemo. Although the downside is that Teemo would need to be hiding nearby and you would reveal his location, making him vulnerable to skill shots or being revealed with the red trinket or pink wards.

Teemo

I don't see a downside to revealing Teemo.

Unless it is Omega Squad Teemo.

Still satan no matter what skin he wears. The skin of his victims, that is.

Poor astronaut champion. Teemo got to him before he even made it into the game :(

No regrets.

This change offers lots more strategic diversity(;D) than you guys think!

Imagine...the smart Mordekaiser:

Mordekaiser buys a item 2045 and not only wards bushes, but his lane so he now has higher mobility, a potential gap closer, and a new ranged trap(place a ward when nobody is looking, then use Creeping Death whenever that pesky Katarina gets near it!).

I LOVE THIS

And allowing him to carry a sweeper now because of it.

I think it would help him out a lot so riot should make it happen I mean it is something easy they can do and would be nice to have.

And there's even opportunity for counter play. It reveals the location of the ward so that it can be easily destroyed, as demonstrated in Lightdragoon's story.

lightdragoon882 votes

Exactly.

Same with Lee SIn, Jax, and Kat's ward hopping.

I actually like this a lot. and I only started playing morde earlier this week lol

LadyRenly1 votes

Lee and Kat can interact with wards, why can't Morde?

Ehh, he doesn't have LCS fangirls squealing over him, nor does he see play so it probs won't happen

lightdragoon881 votes

But he could have fangirls...maybe....one day.

As my friend would say "You died so i could live!"

item 2044 You are heartless

Mordekaiser **Well yeah, I am just a suit of armor. No heart here. **

What if, Creeping Death was actually a pet.

He can move it freely.

It's HP is shared with his shield. HP is not reduced if it is on an ally. (Minion or champion)

Returns to Morde is shield reaches 0 through damage. It stays for 3 seconds after reaching 0 from decay.

lightdragoon881 votes

That a completely different change...And sounds annoying to fight.

Cindikle1 votes

AoE will wreck it if it's not on an ally(aka exact mechanics it currently has). But he can now freely move it without it being on a target for the MS buff.

In a solo lane it wont do much to help him in terms of harassing. As it can be easily destroyed if left in the open. Which also hurts his shield and ability to trade if mishuesed.

lightdragoon882 votes

The main problem is he already has a pet with his ult ghost. Not to mention his kit is design to have him spam spells a lot. Having to control not 1, but 2 pets along with an spamming Q and E can be difficult.

Heck..Azir is kind of like that now that I think about it.

Cindikle1 votes

He'd likely put it on his R to control both. Once it's on a target he doesn't need to keep it there. It'll lock on them like Orianna's ball does. It shouldn't increase the skill floor to play him too much. Just his ceiling.

This gives it a buff in more ways while still getting the idea of what you're looking for there.

lightdragoon881 votes

So he presses W to summon, then press R to move it...unless R off cooldown in which case R is cast instead of moving W pet.

Or he can't cast R on an enemy if he has a W pet out. But what if he wants to set his W pet on one champ, but cast R on another champ?

You understanding the problems that can arise with that idea?

I can understand your idea, but you have to understand the problems that can happen because of it.

Cindikle1 votes

I do understand that it would require a higher skill cap.

But compared to what you're asking, there is no loss. He can still push W to put it where a ward is if he wants to an get the same effect. He can move W and R freely as he wants to.

I'm saying he can use R to move the W if the W is on his R. By doing so W wont eat up his shield and would work exactly as it does live.

I understand this would add a level of complication. He's not exactly a high skill champ right now other than being very good at positioning(although that in itself is what makes Marksmen often considered the highest skill required roll lategame). His skills are very clear-cut and simple otherwise.

I guess I just cannot see you're view of it having any downside.

Except, in the vast majority of situations, (1) wouldn't stop enemies from popping the ward (especially with ranged attacks), and (2) wouldn't make a fast enough escape because of the casting delay.

lightdragoon881 votes

Well

(1) They will take damage from attacking it unless they are ranged and how often do you see the range ADC with a sweeper or a pink ward? Well I guess long range mages can....

(2) They can lower/remove the cast delay on wards if possible.
