i recognize galio has no damaging ultimate or reliable form of poke so he will forever be balanced outside of one shotting / not one shotting with 1 rotation of abilities. in the event he cant 1 shot hes trash in the mid lane, if he can hes broken.

you mean few high turn moments as opposed to general spammy garbage? (riots in the process of removing turn moments from the game, see sej, galio, veigar, chogath, and soon swain. etc)
galio was indeed niche, you had to have a well defined situation in which he was a viable pick, however he did his job as an "anti mage"
the only reason galio didn't see play was because of his melee autos and high mana costs, thats it. new players didn't feel comfortable with him, got shut down too hard by generalist team comps and builds and couldn't make him work. but in the situations where galio was favored, oh boy did he take off.
