Support healing/shields are sort of insane atm

One Nami W heals for like 3 of my autos holding a item 1038 , even more damning that it's essentially a free trade from a really safe distance with borderline moderate mana costs (keeping new masteries/runes in mind). Once she gets an item 3504 it's like 1/3 to 1/2 of an ADC's health.

Janna is sitting in first while also holding nearly a 54% winrate. Maybe due to her low cooldowns and massive shields without really offering windows for counterplay.

Speaking of which, please Riot, gut this thing already Lulu . Safe, bursty poke which also packs a strong slow (albeit short), a big shield early game, really low mana costs, and a god damn POLYMORPH which is essentially a better silence, which also slows? If that's not a loaded kit, what is?

With the exception of a few melee supports that can abuse Aftershock like Alistar Leona Thresh Blitzcrank (damage should also get nerfed), there's really nothing they offer once they miss their spells; meanwhile, a decent support will capitalize on that and mindlessly auto and cycle their spells faster than their cooldowns are up. Otherwise, they can easily zone the enemy carry from farming. Because lo and behold, most supports go for maximum AP in the Sorcery tree and therefore deal a good amount of damage. As if it wasn't bad enough you nerfed item 3302 's health and the hp you receive.

Pretty obvious you never played supports, both nami, janna, and lulu shields/heals cost insane amounts of mana (90+) even in the early levels when they only have for like 70hp, polymorph has a long cooldown and she also has to trade giving her teammate a AS steroid and it also cost a chunk of mana, lulu polymorph also doesn't have that big of a range and usually she has to take some damage to get it off and since the animation for polymorph isn't instantaneous you can actually auto 1-2 more times before it lands on you.

Riot has already hard nerfed janna's shield early game, the cd on it is now on par with morgana black shield and longer than blitzcranks pull.

I'm not sure where you get the idea of support being able to cycle the cooldowns mindless just because a playmaker support misses their engage, that's how you lose lane, which costs your adc a lot of farm which means they wont be able to first back a BF.

LOL they're stupid cost-effective and make an absurd influence in the laning phase. Support's my secondary role and among the first I've learned since I started back in season 3. It has gotten completely brain-dead.

The only time playing support became completely brain dead was season 7 with ardent censer, but riot has already taken care of that and than the enchanter's to make sure it wouldn't become a problem again.

It's true that support has been getting more cost-effective but that's because their inability to get kills and also their lack gold income, if you removed their cost-efficiency you would be back to season 1-3 supports being the most hated role in the game.

However any support items is really hard to incorporate into non-support builds, so their cost being good for the stats you get really only benefit supports in the end so you don't need to worry about support items.

Enchanter have massive mana cost, and aren't THAT powerful early considering said mana cost (3 Nami W cost 2/3 of her mana pool). Late game this get absurd, but with damages getting absurd it's the only way said buff keep being revelant in team fights. Heal also have counter (item 3165item 3076item 3075item 3123item 3033), shield are another thing though.

The real problem behind enchanter state is the powercreep that force them to be overpowered late to stay revelant and useful.
