Ornn is Still a Joke Solo Queue (Patch 9.6) (Poll)

Although I don't feel like Ornn has the popularity for it to go well, I added a poll because why not.

Ornn is still a joke without his shield. His win-rate is abysmal and his play rate is among the lowest in the game (bottom 5 last I checked). They took him from being a great laner who punishes melee champs to this weird late game champ that gives allies power rather than himself.

The thing is that it sounds like he should be a support if his power lies in buffing up allies, but with the removal of his shield, he now walks unstoppable into harass by a adc AND support and loses every trade. Who cares about unstoppable when your getting your face melted off by harass because you lack a shield.

They gave him these cute quality of life fixes which riot advertised before hand as incoming buffs and it simply is not going to help in any real way and was just meant to increase win rate. Even before the shield removal Ornn's play rate was among the lowest but because he did well in proplay he gets nerfed into oblivion. He honestly has went from one of, if not my favorite champ to being one I will never play again until rework.

Unless you are proplay or running full flex 5s, Ornn SHOULD NOT be played. He is very dependent on his team via his team fighting focus and all of his power now in upgrading other allies' items (when ofc no one in solo queue can listen when you try to help Sheppard them through the confusing item order for upgrades and "don't walk away from me while i am doing it" clown fiesta).

It honestly feels like riot was aiming to fix his symptoms (low win rate, toxic proplay) rather than caring about Ornn mains. No ornn main wants their power put into making allies' stronger or having unstoppable over a shield. There is no possible way riot could have thought this would feel satisfying for Ornn mains.

Also: I love how Urgot gets similar treatment but for whatever reason his shield just gets moved rather than removed. Nice.

Would love to hear from Ornn mains on where they feel he is at right now because after this last patch and statements from rioters, I get the feeling riot is happy with the champ and ready to forget about Ornn for the coming future.
