The Death of Ornn

So 4 months ago I created a poll and my opinion on how ornn was doing after they made their changes to him:

https://boards.na.leagueoflegends.com/en/c/gameplay-balance/VgjNeEBn-ornn-is-still-a-joke-solo-queue-patch-96-poll

The post essentially laid out my opinion on the state of ornn at the time and asked others what they thought about it.

So now 4 months later everything seems to have played out as I foresaw. Ornn received some numbers buffs that slightly pushed up his winrate to, not good, but acceptable levels for a "nail in the coffin" for now. Riot has since forgot about the champ it seems and simply done a couple tiny numbers buffs again, effectively saying they are happy with where he is at and do not plan to change him further.

This is in complete contradiction to him being the 9th lowest picked champion in ranked out of 145.... And this only improves to the 18th lowest picked champion in normals. His pick rate is sitting steady at 2%.

My question is simple; why does riot feel that this low pick rate still means "he is in a good place"?

To me it means no one plays him because he is currently un-fun to play. He is not a hard champ, and in fact has one of the most satisfying ults in the game and yet PEOPLE ARE NOT PLAYING HIM (refer to my previous post as to why I think this is).

Love to hear people's opinions on Ornn's current situation and the general occurrence of riot essentially "giving up" on champs that are not picked much but with normal winrates (often for the sake of proplay).

Love to hear from a riot staff memeber on ornn atm.

Best, xXReverseXx

But if ornn becomes playable that means its a tank meta and everyone knows tank metas are the worst thing ever, I much rather enjoy being killed in .2 seconds
