How are some people so insanely good at this game?

I've been playing this game for about three years now and the highest I've managed to climb is silver III. I just started a new account this season and it's been extremely frustrating getting trashed by smurfs. While I'm angry that I'm just getting dumpstered for 30 minutes I'm also in awe of the mechanical skill of someplayers. I've been watching high plat streamers but I watch them and don't really see what they're doing differently than me. But then I see players in my games who can utterly destroy their lane and single-handedly carry their team. I've had games where I destroyed my lane but I still couldn't carry my team. Late game in Silver and Bronze is atrocious. It seems most of my teams just want to roam jungle looking for fights. I'm usually trying to take objectives when this happens. Should I cave in and just group with my team during these fights? At this point I'm at a total loss on how I can improve enough to carry 1v9 like I've seen some smurf players do.

For those of you in high gold or plat (I'd be happy if I were just able to gtfo Silver) what did you do to get there? Did you only play certain champs?

Some champions don't have weaknesses and they abuse those champions and if hey have problems with another champion they get them nerfed. See gameplay team

Play easy and effective champions like Annie for example. Instead of wasting time learning overly complicated mechanics, you will focus on improving your decision making and macro mechanics, which will help you alot more in a long run. It actually pisses me off seeing bronze/ silver player trying to play something like LeeSin , when at their level they should be looking to play champions like Warwick etc.

As for your teammates randomly fighting/ getting caught and dieing, yeah it will happen more or less in every elo, you can't prevent this. What you can prevent is not getting yourself baited and dieing in stupid fights trying to save them. Think of it as living to fight another day.

Climbing is really about understanding the flow of the game as a whole, and the different power spikes and synergies between your teams champs and the enemy champs.

From there, its simply adjusting to get an optimal chance at winning and trusting your teammates to have mechanical skill to preform decently enough to win.
