How to prevent yourself from flaming?

I've never played a game that has made me more angry than LOL. I just got out of a game with an ori support that would steal my cs then bitch at me for not having enough CS. They also fed first blood. I asked my team to report Ori then the FUCKING volibear also started flaming me for saying I didn't have enough CS. He also fed all game. Shaco got so fed that i couldn't go anywhere on the map without getting one shot by him. IT took my team nearly 40 minutes before they finally surrendered. I wish I could say these types of players were rare but they are much more common than not from my experience.

I get sooo angry that I start flaming back. I've tried muting all but then I get frustrated watching my team roam around the map like a bunch of idiots late game. Or if I'm getting suppressed under my tower I'll unmute to try and ask I'll ask for a gank only to have my jungler ignore me or try to gank after I've been beaten to low health and their's a giant minion wave. I just feel so helpless. If I leave these games full of trolls I get punished. If I vent my frustration at these F%cking trolls I get banned.

I'm at a complete loss as to what to do when I'm stuck in a sh!t game with a bunch of scum f@ck retards. If I feed (which does happen, I will never force my team to play out a crap game. I will always vote to ff). What do you all do in these situations? Or how do you prevent yourself from getting angry? I don't want another account getting banned because the dipshit Riot police find it creates a better community to punish frustrated players rather than the trolls who play this game.

There are methods like programs to unbind enter key or just dragging chat off the screen, but ultimately I think you need to change your perspective of what's acceptable behavior.

If another player is actually trolling, yelling at them, insulting them, none of that will change their desire to troll (it will likely just encourage them to continue trolling). The result is you just adding to the poor experience of the game for the remaining players if you're yelling at a legitimate troll, and just being a horrible person if you're yelling at someone who just made a mistake.

If you accuse someone of trolling when they just make a mistake, they are less likely to try and help you at all in game. They might start trolling for real because you pissed them off.

Ask yourself "would I say this to their face?"

The answer should be no

Take a break.

It is easier to behave normally, when you step out of the toxic climate for a while

  • accept that at the point where you are where you belong in terms of MMR, you will win 50% of your games and loose 50% of your games
  • accept that people are bad and no need to blame anyone when they do bad
  • accept that off-meta can be a strategy and accept a challenge to adapt to the strategy
  • think about the consequences of you getting banned / permabanned if you continuously are toxic
  • accept that you don't have to carry every game, let others carry you is fine
  • git gud; try to learn "trading stace" if you haven't done so already. Winning lane is your responsibility, and trading stance will help with that.
  • Learn good wave management techniques
  • try to shot call for the best play in the moment, but if they refuse to listen, a new moment has risen and will require another play decision.

Self-control. Consider it a practiced skill and that League is a starter exercise to work on it.

"I just got out of a game with an ori support that would steal my cs" Also CSing practice at a higher difficulty.

On a more serious note, what is happening is that you are choosing to get worked up over this, and by doing so you are encouraging yourself to get more worked up and frustrasted, more so and more often. Do we doubt that the guy who yells at traffic is not the same guy who yells at his computer? You are letting yourself teach yourself miserable habits that can spill over into other areas and make your quality of life worse, so I would suggest addressing them

if you have auto-hotkey you could use this:

(HASHTAG)ifwinactive League of Legends (TM) Client (ASTERISK)Enter::return (ASTERISK)NumpadEnter::return

it just disables ur enter key when league is open... it doesn't modify any files or any of that so there's no chance of getting banned

EDIT: the formatting is making some of it look wacky so i just wrote out the word for some things
