[Humorous Rant] How to explain skills to Ranked Team.....

Lucian Top - because 1st pick never once responded to chat and took Ashe Caitlyn ADC - every time I get the role Nami Support - forced because Kalista begged Caitlyn ADC Nami Support again

It's so fun trying to explain to team mates in Bronze 5 champ select that if they want to win, let me have a certain role. ME: "No, Really - you wan't me to ADC. I promise." TM: "It's pick order. FU" TM: "People who call prefs shouldn't play ranked" TM: "You're last pick , STFU" ME: ".... aaaaaalright."

I've heard all three of those statements at some point every time I call ADC. It's not that I can't play other roles (hello, check out that Lucian Top, Nami Support). I just don't play them nearly as well. But every game I've lost (almost, everyone has bad days) are to team mates who chose the roll I call because they think they can play it better, then feed (That Kalista Nami duo was a joke, I kindly let him have the role even though I had first pick. Never again).

What kind of mindset do you go into ranked with?

I am totally willing to believe there are people in bronze that don't know how to play well, but do you think anyone would take you seriously if you told them that you had to have ADC if they wanted to win? Especially if you are bronze ranked yourself?

You could be completely correct, but in champ select if someone said that I would assume they don't actually know what they are doing.

I need to make a side note that I've never actually said that first statement in dialog. It was more of the humorous internal thought when I call ADC Pref. I'm finding myself also thinking that people who call pref roles don't really mean that they know the role they want.

Well you could say frack it, and go 2 adc bot, or ignore bot and do double jungle, or pick a off meta choice like Vel'koz or Lee Sin for support.

Consider Lee Sin sppt with flash, Smite, FoM, Stalkers (War), Botrk, Ruby Sight stone, RO, MT, maby sell FoM or relic shield for a LW after laneing.

LOL I may have to look into this. I just don't play melee well at all. I'm just tired of being ignored/raged at.

Well teams tend to be more cooperative at higher elo, in plat for example, many people just fill in or they state their preferred role and maybe they get it maybe they dont, sometimes when I have a higher pick order and someone asked for the roll I wanted, I ask if it would be alright if I took it, if they say they would really like to go the role they call I normally let them, it's better to have happy teammates.

However...when I started playing I got lucky and began at silver 4, I've never touched bronze so I dont know how it is there personally, but I always see the "its too toxic" comments about it so I can only imagine. My advise there? Screw all of you. Yup, looks like you can't trust people there, according to multiple posts and comments I have seen. Carry yourself out of there, so try getting mid or adc every game as those roles are carry roles.

Edit: Forgot to mention, yea even in higher divisions you still find annoying things, but it gets better the higher you get.

I keep hearing that. I'm working really hard at it, but it's so hard in bronze. That Kalista I posted above gave up the game after being killed the second time. She went into full troll mode and started roaming all lanes, and got ganked several times just walking through jungle. When I have "normal", rounded, non-DC games, I almost always win - but those are so rare!

Other- I don't play ranked , all of my placement matches are usually so toxic I only last through around 5-8 before I quit for the season. I don't care that I "Don't know anything about league because I don't play ranked" The people that say that just prove my point even more.

I do a mix of 1 and 4. I'm usually fast enough to call a lane before others. Most people don't try to take my role, so I usually end up doing what I prefer. If someone else really wants the role I already called, then I let them have it and fill. Likewise if someone takes it.

I find that a team is at its best when everyone is playing their preferred roles.

However, if someone calls my lane before me, I really want to play that role, and I'm higher than them in pick order, then I'm probably going to take that role.

Also, I agree with the below statement.

I am totally willing to believe there are people in bronze that don't know how to play well, but do you think anyone would take you seriously if you told them that you had to have ADC if they wanted to win? Especially if you are bronze ranked yourself?

I'm of the opinion that pick order > preference.

On a side note, option #2 sounds like something someone who picks option #1 would say.

A lot of truth here lol. That, yes, but I was trying to more or less capture the attitude - the second choice is more of a "you better be able to play anything" as opposed to "i'm picking first so shut up" lol. At least in my experience.
