Just a fact for the adcs out there so that they will actually heal during a close fight and instead of typing "you were going to die anyway" but proceeds to die after using heal for themselves when they get 3 man dove and get nothing out of it.
There's nothing more tilting in the entire world than reading "heal wasn't going to save you" after you literally died to the last tick of someone's ignite.
Another fun fact. You can actually choose who you heal. It just chooses the closest person if you don't have your mouse hovering over somebody.

Healing to save support could be a huge waste of potential for the ADC later on
If you're dying, then why are you dying? Could you have played differently? This is the main thing to reflect on
My only exceptions are an ADC using heal AFTER you die, or an ADC not using heal at all when they die to a flash auto in lane or something
supports are stupid they let adcs take heal when supports build 
and can make it better. Exhaust is always used to keep assassins off of adcs so why cant the adcs carry the Exhaust when supports carry it adcs run but supports still get focused by the assassins and die because supports have less hp and armor than adcs (unless they are mage supports like lux and Morganna) and often dont have have instant cc like adcs do along with usually a mobility boost (dash or speed) or are stuck in long animations when using their spells.
I love Heal, it is my favorite summoner spell.
