Can Taliyah's passive actually be useful?

Taliyah's passive has no impact on her whatsoever, she gains movement speed when she moves next to walls, but she rarely needs it, it doesn't really help her get away, because if she's attacked, it stops it. And she can't jungle, so it doesn't help her much there, and when you roam as Taliyah, most of the time you can just wall in. If you're going to give her a movement speed boost, at least make it she doesn't always have to be next to walls for it to activate.

Honestly, if you change her passive completely instead of buffing her Q ALL the time to try to fix her low win rate, it would probably make her a little more balanced.

Ur totally right her passive is not only useless but irrelevant to her kit and role... I believe they gave her that just because it looks cool and it fits her wall concept..

did you know the reason they had to nerf her minion damage was so they could keep her in lane longer? She keeps roaming too hard, and does so like 20-30% faster than other midlaners even without her ult.

Yeah, but it also made it easier to roam because of her ult, and her passive movement speed scales with level, so early on, it's not that fast anyways, so I still think her passive doesn't affect her too much, but it's alright to not agree.

I like the part of her passive that gives you MS on worked ground. Helps avoid and land skillshots, and it's always active (even in combat).

But I agree that her basic passive is kind of underwhelming because of its out-of-combat restriction.

I like the worked ground movement speed too, but that's the passive on her Q, not on her main passive, which makes it seem even more useless.

Yeah I definitely agree with you there. It's ironic that the half-passive they stapled onto her Q is more useful than her actual passive.

I've been enjoying playing her a lot, but it seems like too much of her power budget is in her Q, which makes it harder for Riot to balance. If they gave her a more interesting passive, they'd have another lever to tune when she's too strong (or weak).

Yeah, it's truly a shame it works that way.

They buffed her Q too much, her E + W combo doesn't seem nearly as rewarding since you can deal more damage just by pressing Q once.

Do not underestimate out of combat movement, as it greatly increases your ability to roam, even if it requires her to be near terrain (the jungle is full of it). That's the whole point of the Cloud Drake, Boots of Mobility, and that mastery that gives you out of combat movement. Movement speed can change a game, especially if you are trying to scoot to a new lane to save an ally, take out a wave that's encroaching on your tower, or join a team fight. Do not scoff at the advantages that moving fast out of combat provides.

You're right, I probably shouldn't underestimate movement speed so much, but it's still one of the weakest (if not the most) passives in the game. You have to wait 5 seconds before you can even get it back, and even minions can stop the passive.

I never actually said she was weak, and the win rates are probably do to her Q being the only thing they buff, which doesn't require much mechanics, if they would focus on her other abilities, it could make her a much more interesting and enjoyable champ.
