SINCE WHEN ARE TOP LANERS BECOMING SUPPORTS??????

Arctic Snow Wolf··2 votes·1,343 views

why are top laners becoming supports just so they can sell the support items and build full top lane. its so stupid and ruining the game for the people that play it like its suppose to be played. just got done with a game against a riven support with a vayne adc, against me as zilean and sivir adc started shaky then i started to actually play, we whooped their butts, but mid and late game she sold her support item and built pure riven top and helped carry her team to the win. this is the first, ive ran into darius, garens, any top laner that deals major damage be a support and its stupid. if this is really becoming the meta then i might as well just quit. which im hoping its not. im a support main on a team and i love it but this thing that is going on were people are taking top laners to support position just for a easy win is stupid. the second it come to mid or late game or they start loosing they just start building the regular carry build. like wtf its ruining the game for people that are trying to climb and the ones who make on a team or organizations. the gold, plats, diamonds, masters, challengers dont run into this stuff as far as i know. Why are people starting to take top laners to the support position? thats my question? why are they trying to ruin everyone elses time on this game

Going support - I.e. not taking kills, cs, or solo exp - and then selling items mid game is a huge, easily exploitable risk.

I'm sorry but if that is beating you, you need a better strategy.

what do i do? because im not going to be the pussy player that needs to bring a top laner to support because im not bad at support. im not great but im alright. so i dont have to bring a top laner to get the edge in bot lane. and i actually have honor unlike them i like the fight. they have to bring top into support because they cant handle the top match ups or the support bot lane match us. when i have to i play it safe i peel for my adc, i go all in get my adc kills but then those players sell support items and they rock the top champion ruins and get what ever that champion builds then its a adc and support champ vs a top laner and a adc. not much we can do when that happens?

I wouldn't call top laner supp cheese "dishonorable" per se, but that's beside the point.

There's got to be a traditional supp who can punish these guys hard. Adapt to them, punish them, and end the game before they finally scale.

Try Annie. She rips a lot of slow fatties wide open.

I play Malphite supp a lot, but I really really hate going up against a Sona. There are supps that you can turn to.

i do not understand what the qq is about or why you are qqing in the first place.

a solo lane champion is stronger than a support when they both have gold because the solo lane champion has the ability to kill which outscales the support player's team synergy.

at the beginning of the game, solo lane champions have good base values that allow them to zerg supports and therefore they are also stronger at the early levels.

in the mid game, supports outscale "unfarmed" solo laners through their strong CC and high team synergy.

if you are a support player going against a non support, your job is to survive the early game, abuse the bruiser / assassin / mage in the mid game (with your team) and end the game before the gold gets high for everybody.

you, as a support champion player, have a "power window" just like everybody else does. your job in these situations is to understand what it is, and abuse it FTW

P.S. all the traditional supports abuse these picks hard. just gotta care level 2, 4 and level 6 all in. especially with "rengar support".

Should see when mid laners become supports. Or junglers. Or adc..... (im looking at you Ashe). And then ive played vs a Riven and Soraka bottom lane too. Problem is your focused on Meta. You know what Meta is? A recommended style of play. Apc used to be meta. No support used to be meta. No jungle used to be meta (Catching the drift?). Honestly you can take supports into other lanes and woop butt, you can take adc champs into other lanes and win easily, i can go on for about what...... 25? Different possabilities of various how things can go down.

Reason why people take "meta" and throw it into a wood chipper is because it works. It throws Meta oriented people like yourself off and it wins because of it. I play with the meta oriented enemies because they are easy to predict. 4 shaco boxes at bottom in the bush closest to enemy turret, exaust, and i got First Blood almost every time i did it because the enemy support ALWAYS walks into that bush...... free win is just dependent on how much you are willing to change with the flow of the game.

Its just nobody plays against that champion in that role, and so they have no clue how to deal with it. My recommendation is branching out and playing in a few other roles and learn how to play against their meta champions, so when people break meta (im looking at you Mordekaiser mid vs my Zilean mid) you know how to play against them. I used to main Morde and it helped greatly knowing how much damage, what he was going to do, how much he will push by poking at me, and his ranges.... along with knowing exactly which abilities did what, and how long the abilities are down. You get a general feel for a champion after playing them once, you learn more the more you play with them. But I recommend playing every champion atleast once.

i do play other roles. but im a support on a team. when we practice we have ran into shit like that, we have comm so we can out play it. but when i want to practice solo. and trying to get comfortable with the squishy supports.

I do understand that, but I was just explaining that breaking meta is easy to do and often runs better rewards due to nobody knowing how to play against it. In some cases it could be your team that does not know how to play against it with their current champion. It happens unfortunately =\ but do not let it ruin your enjoyment of the game just because you lose because of it. Honestly since supports normally are the ones with the CC and hooks etc, their team is lacking. Pure damage can be outplayed with cc :D

It's League for you. Top lane is the home of unbalanced champions.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

yeah keep those unbalanced ass champions out of bot lane. it makes the lane heavily 1 sided. 0 fun for the people facing it.

Nope. I'm an ADC main. When I support, it's with Leona or Sona.

J4 support here with an important message: Learn to adapt.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

yeah no, cause there is 0 reason why top laners should be showing up in bot lane. the only reason guys like you are doing that is you cant make it in top lane at all and you cant make it as a support so you have to basically cheat the enemy team just so you can get ahead its pretty pathetic tbh. and will ruin the game before league should be done. because you keep doing it and it will spread up the ranks to challenger it will change the game completely. its pretty pathetic that you say to adapt to something that shouldnt even been happening. plays like you ruin alot of games. and ruin the game for the people that just play for fun

3tyson2 votes

its what you deserved for not shitting on riven sup and showing him its not oke to be riven bot lane

its like twitch jungle going 20 - 3 and me complaining he aint even a jungler what can i do against a fed adc ???

NO its my fault i should have gone in there and show him its not oke to pick twitch jungle if you go twitch jungle i will fucking kill you before 3 minutes, TWICE! u stupid mice!

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

no i did. after i died 2 times i go serious and me and sivir fucked up their bot lane. we killed them atleast 8 times we ruiner her lane but she just built riven top and nothing we could do. cause my team kept getting caught out and she got alot of assists. it was annoying when that happened. and twitch jungle is legit in ways easy as fuck to take camps with if you have attack speed ruins

Chimp Joker1 votes

lmao. You should see Sion and Zac bot lane. That shit hurts like hell.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

zac is honestly a good support, ive play zac support cho support but i built pure tank support. the utility is what made them good supports. sion is stupid to, but i easily out play sion supports with alistar. i havent ran into any issue with them. like i said what is more annoying is those people just become a 5th carry in the enemy team.

Zero Shingetsu1 votes

I build Full Armor Nidalee at support. Does that count?

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

lol nid is/was a legit support i dont have a issue with it at all same as trundle support naut support. like any champion that was a legit support i dont have a issue with

zlumpy1 votes

I think it's because supports in general aren't as strong in general situations. It's the same reason why Zyra and Brand end up in bot as support when they were originally midlaners. If they get ahead they bring a lot more to a team damage wise in a team fight and overall usefulness outside of the super utility supports like Taric and Zilean. Once Ryze rework is done I wouldn't doubt he shows up in bot lane a lot as well. I mean building tanky mana items and getting damage plus team teleports seems kinda support like already.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

if the person really knows how to play that champion support or mid lane champ they can survive. before the brand and zyra rework was done they were legit supports. they have been since like s2 or something like that. im just getting sick of these people being that desperate to win in ranked and normals they are willing to ruin the game. if top laners keep showing up as supports in bot lane adcs will be near useless in ways and supports well might as well be taken out of the game completely cause it will start spreading like wildfire and alot of the pros will probably quit and go to other games

Athenes Lulu1 votes

Like, for a very long time?

Lulu top has long been a thing for a reason.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

yeah, lol i run support champions in top lane as well. lulu is the one counter to darius. idc about champiosn going to other lanes and stuff cause it works. but when you take a top champion that is hella unbalanced against bot lane thats where i draw the line. the only reason they take those champions into bot lane are to troll. tilt the enemy bot lane, fuck up their day and the fun they are having. and because they get their ass kicked in top lane and in bot lane so they take the op unbalanced just so they can try and get a edge

Guyy Fieri1 votes

the reason that sometimes works is because you know how to play against meta supports but against those off meta supports. Think about the champs you listed. Darius, Garen and Riven are some fairly snowbally top Laners. As such, they will also be snowbally as supports. You have to be cautious of that and prevent that Lane from getting a lead, even if it means you just play safe and don't go for kills without a jungler present. Further, most supports are going to bring more utility to the table mid and late game than those three champions. Sure riven has the stun and Garen has his silence and Darius has his pull but say you play Alistar, whenever the "support" engages, you can disengage or even counter engage more effective than they can engage. Same thing with most meta supports (Karma and Lulu are probably the two that can't do that as well). You'll need to focus on peeling for your carry and letting their dive fighter dive too deep for his team to follow up and then just kill the dive fighter and you have a 5v4. It's a different team fight style but it works.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

yeah i know what your saying. but its literally unfair in mid and late game because they just sell the support item and build whatever that champion builds. i wouldnt have as big as an issue if they just built support items and runes. whenever i go off meta support i stick to the support side unless 1 of our guys go afk then ill build ap or ad. yeah we do that alot when stuff like that happens but its to fucking annoying and if it keeps happening then the team i am on is going to have to find a new support. its tilting me beyond belief

Guyy Fieri1 votes

Don't let it tilt you mate.

If those supports are selling everything and buying new items they will be behind since you lose gold from selling. So unless they have snowballed and gotten a good lead, they would be much less useful then if they just kept their support items.

I understand it can be frustrating but it is good practice to learn the importance of flexibility on a single champion. It might alter your builds or your play style and being able to play in different ways on a single champ is great for you, take it as a leArning experience.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

pretty funny how this is a legit issue especially to the small support community and its getting alot of down votes more and likely cause this has helped you guys win games easily, or its some of the actual people that run top champs as support which is pretty pathetic.

ItsOrval1 votes

I went support Urgot 17 times in ranked. Got an S every game but 3 lol

RookPusher1 votes

I'm not quite sure what you're saying here, but if I can guess, I'll respond like this. I main support, and I play traditional supports in Ranked. In the rare times I see a non-support being the support for an ADC, by the time we all hit 6 we're smashing them. Levels 1-3 are tough, sure, but there's a reason a supports kit isn't like a top lane kit.

Arctic Snow Wolf1 votes

yeah i know what you mean. same pretty much happens. unless its a darius or garen and they just straight up target the adc and they dont do anything but just stand there a support can only do so much against a top laner. but when they top laner sells those support items and builds like a normal top thats when the game becomes way to unfair. idk about you but im down in low elo and not everyone knows what to do when their is no actual support. they dont know how to punish it or anything like that. ive learned how to do that stuff from youtube guides and being on a team but there is only so much supports can do about that stuff
