Is sniping illegal?

Was messing around on my one D3 account and noticed Gosu was about to finish a game and queue up for another one. Is it illegal or against rules or anything to snipe somebody so you get them in your game? I wouldn't be watching while the game happened or anything but just curious if sniping is against any rules. (Didn't end up working out missed him by 1 queue but still) Wanted a free win.

The term you're looking for is "ghosting"

(Ghosting - Watching a live recording of another player while on the opposing team either to gain information about their team or to replay what they did)

Its not reportable nor illegal. The streamer is responsible for their stream not being private (how could you?), hiding the minimap, and keeping their information to theirselves (again, how could they?). Thats why a lot of streamers use barcode names to make it nearly impossible to be recognizable to ghost unless the watcher is already in the stream and paying attention to the team comps (ex. if you see a barcode, you won't go check nightblue3's stream to see if he's streaming the game)

As somebody else here said, its more "streamer beware" rather than "report ghosters". Its wrong morally and nothing more.

Illegal? No. Against the rules? I believe so.

I dont think ghosting is against the rules; its streamer beware for the most part. If they dont cover the minimap or set a decent delay, its their fault.

yet people argue that rank is competitive at its natural form....

Why would it be?

All you're doing is watching a particular stream and queing up at a particular time

There's no way rito should be able to dictate what people watch or when they que

Wanted a free win.

And then, even while ghosting, you still get stomped because smart streamers use at least a couple minutes worth of delay so the information you're getting is worthless anyways.

Just because you can ghost someone doesn't mean you'll win if they're still better at the game than you are.
