Exhaust op?

I remember the days where bot lane took ignite and exhaust was more of a situational summoner against assassins like zed or a hyper carry like vayne. I feel like when exhaust was buffed to apply to attack speed, making it affect basically every stat in the game, it was made kind of broken. As it stands now carries in my opinion are weaker and tanks are still shining despite the changes riot has tried to implement. I feel as if it might help if you nerf exhaust because as of now even champs like yasuo are taking exhaust, and everybody except zyra and brand bot lane takes exhaust. It is very overrepresented as a summoner in the game and if ignite was made better or exhaust made weaker, it won't be a meta where if an adc steps up in lane they get exhausted and can't move or do any damage and just instantly die. Tanks are strong enough as it is, we don't need a summoner that lowers every stat in the game for 2.5 seconds. It's ridiculous in my opinion.

Thoughts?

That doesn't mean a lot of anything. A very, very large amount players in this game only do things that they are "supposed" to do. The current "supposed to do" is take heal/exhaust bot lane and they do so even when other things, like Ignite, are better for that match. Just like how average solo-queue players took Teleport when they were "supposed" to when that was meta, or how you see them take Ghost because they are "supposed" to because pickrates, or how they take counter-pick champions because they are "supposed" to be the correct match-up and then they don't even make use of the spells or champions for the reasons they are supposed to be taken.

The simple habits of average players are not evidence for a thing's strength.

You don't think assassins like yasuo now taking exhaust in lane shows that it is at all too strong? Or 80% of support champs taking exhaust? What about lcs where exhaust is taken 9/10. Or higher elo when exhaust is taken on everybody but zyra/brand.

I mean its been in riot's knowledge that Exhaust is broken. They just never fix summoner's. Look at even summoner 4 and summoner 7. Flash has been basically built into the game. summoner 7 is better than summoner 21 99% of the time. And if you really want defensive you go for summoner 3 because it helps you in all ins.

It does not demonstrate that. Because of what I said and because the core idea...

This statement of yours is false. The choice of Ignite as a summoner spell is well represented and the most common choice in higher elo on the aggressive support choices, e.g. Annie, Leona, Blitzcrank. And when players do opt for a more passive or defensive tactic in the match and take a champion like Nami, it should not be a surprise if they take a defensive summoner for that same purpose.

Further, in this current state of the game where the most common strategy is "4 man party@bot lane", would it be at all surprising that players start taking options in response to this?

As for solo lanes, there are champion match-ups where the lane is a state of basically, lose by default unless you take Exhaust, and they need to take Exhaust, in the state that it is in, in order to even lane and not lose it harder due to the laning strength of the opposing pick which Exhaust's state as a potential pick corrects for. The fact that they are a "damage champion" does not render this use of Exhaust inappropriate for the game.

what is op is DAMAGE AND MOBILITY so exhaust is fine

I mean damage and mobility is super high but using OP to justify broken is completely wrong. I seriously look at your posts half the time and wonder what game you are playing and how much you actually understand balance. You don't fix broken with broken. You fix the broken.

oSEXYPLATYPUSo2 votes

no i understand it just fine... but instead of crying and bitching about everything in game i accept it learn to adapt and play the game and enjoy it for what it is

maybe that is why i have more fun and enjoyment out of the game then most....

oh and you never see me cry about balanced or broken etc cuz it comes ebb n flow

every change has ripple effects through out the landscape of the game... but most just say NERF THIS and think thingso s are fixed and that wont ever be the case... the imbalance comes from the different types of champs and what they need to do to win... that it self creates diversity in gameplay... there is balanced by imbalance ( abstract thinking here) but for the game to truly be balanced as all of you cry for they would have to start over... 1st start with removing runes and masteries and balancing champs and items with those variables removed making the equation simpler to solve... make it algebra 2 instead of trig in a sense

so think what you want about me cuz no matter what i dont care and you wouldnt be right in the 1st place

Because there are balance problems if you go with the flow then you are the reason the game is at the point it is now. All the community saying don't cry about it abuse it is the problem with the game. And you have the attitude of I am always right. You must be in middle school then because of the mentality. Go with the flow, abuse it, always right. That is the middle school attitude.

The point is if you ever want anything done you can't defend it. You have to speak up and if 70-90% of the board is too stupid to listen it shows just how many players don't understand the game. I'm not a bandwagon person. I completely understand the problems of the game right now outside of pro play because I could give a rats ass about the top 1%. I care about the top 40% and vets and the new player experience.

Riot constantly tunes the game around pro play and things like exhaust are ironic considering how much they don't like things dictating the game balance. Lethality was a poor choice as it basically took the weakness of armor pen and removed it. Combine it with exhaust and its almost impossible to win a trade against a lethality carry as a DPS/crit carry.

The ripple effect you talk about comes from how poorly the game is balanced fixing loose ends would actually reduce the ripples.

lol oh the kid insult comes out ... how mature...

yea you reworded it but its still there.

no the game is where it is because of all the crying and bitching for constant change before they have time to fix one thing the community cries about 100 other things... and if they dont do it all at once ( and regardless what they change) no one is happy.

and i dont care about the top 2% or pro play balance... but riot does... and that is where they focus.. saying only those are truly able to use and abuse a champ to its full extent cuz of their skill level. if people want things to truly change you have to take a stand... a real one not throwing fits like 2 yr old spoiled brats..

riot will change when they see the players ( not 2-3 that make the post im quiting) but the community as a whole stops supporting league ... stop buying merch, stop watching the guides and videos , streams, stop playing ... dont watch worlds ...

when their $ goes to shit they will try to scramble and change things.

but in all honesty the game isnt that broken... you win some you lose some ... try to have fun and dont fret over it...

ironically exhaust gives you more damage because it lowers resists

When there is an adc every match, I don't think the problem lies with things that help counter ADCs.

Moooose31 votes

It also counters assassins, damage top laners, it's good for gank assist, it lowers attack speed, damage, movespeed, armor mr, and it lasts for 2.5 seconds and has a very short cooldown. Personally I think it is overtuned.

Maximum Morde1 votes

I dont. But then, I usually just count to 3 before dropping my load on someone if they've exhausted me.

Moooose31 votes

A lot of the time you're dead by the time you count to 3. As a support main, and trust me I take exhaust a lot, I think it's a bit op. Thanks for responding though.

There is a way to counter exhaust if it is really that big of an issue to you. Cleanse removes exhaust completely along with any other cc anf gives you insane tenacity. I see cleanse maybe once every 150 games so exhaust must not be be too overtuned.

Moooose31 votes

Taking a summoner to counter another summoner is kind of really bad lol. Thanks for the response though.

Exhaust's power hasn't directly changed. But now that everyone and their grandmother can hur dur to bot lane and shit on the ADC without counterplay... exhaust is as necessary as flash.

TW Bunny1 votes

If it was me, I would literally delete that summoner. But hey, I can't do that. The only thing which is needed, is to give Exhaust a cooldown. 240s is bullshit. Make it a 500s cs really. That spell literally shuts down ANYONE in this game. Someone exhausted is USELESS for 2.5s. That spell transforms 5v5 into 5v4. That's why it needs a 500s cd. Maybe less tho, maybe I'm saying that because that spell ruins my everyday.
