rageblade = no weakness

rageblade on right champion and it becomes OP... no matter what you cant tank it... only reply on team to stop rageblade user...

its not fun to duel against jax (or other) with rageblade alone... no matter what if you already kill jax for many times until jax comeback with rageblade...

to be honest... rageblade needs to be seriously re-working or revert back to old...

btw see this item is very effecient for one slot... > Cost Analysis* > Gold Value > 30 attack damage = 1050 Gold > 40 ability power = 870 Gold > Total Gold Value = 1920 Gold > Gold Value 1 Stack > > 8% attack speed = 200 Gold > 3 attack damage = 105 Gold > 4 ability power = 87 Gold > Gold Value = 392 Gold Total = 2312 Gold > Gold Value 8 Stacks > > 64% attack speed = 1600 Gold > 24 attack damage = 840 Gold > 32 ability power = 696 Gold > Gold Value = 2232 Gold Total = 4544 Gold > GUINSOO'S RAGE Gold Value > > 20 + 8.1 + 5.4 = 33.5 on-hit damage = 837.5 Gold > Gold Value = 837.5 Gold Total = 5381.5 Gold > Gold Efficiency* > > Guinsoo's Rageblade is 68.57% gold efficient with no stacks. Its gold efficiency increases by 14% per stack, becoming gold efficient by the third stack and reaching 192.2% gold efficiency at 8 stacks, without its area of effect.

yes, if you can use all stats it gives perfectly, thats the value you get. now what happened is that you just spent 2800 gold on an item that gives no defensive stats and relies on auto attacking. this means if your enemy laner can:

  1. either push you in always to deny you stacking the blade on the wave or
  2. trade and disengage quickly without you being able to stack or
  3. win a very quick all-in that doesnt leave you time to stack it you have a useless item and you die instantly. its an extremely strong snowball item and if you play jax or irelia with this item and you are for some miraculous reason able to still win/kill your lane, you become very unstoppable. tho if you cant do that and fall behind, you miss your trinity powerspike and become much weaker for the rest of the game.

its a tradeoff and despite me not liking that item, i think its kinda okay. even tho i think the on-hit doesnt need to be aoe.

Finally someone who's actually thinking rationally about this item.

yeah offensive is defensive... keep AA and you will get there... its not too hard to get full stack in under 2 seconds...

if you got cc chained... you might comeback with heal item... who knows if you survive...

not to mention jax's have their ultimate that gives them armor and magic resist based on his ad and ap so it gives him abit of everything

AL0002 votes

of course... as jax player... i like to rush rage/gunblade.. but better as jungler...

top player will take a while to get both items... fed or not...

hybrid jax is just too strong imho...

No you don't understand, item 3124 is an extremely broken and gold efficient item that makes certain champions stronk!1one!

I know this because every time I fed my lane and the enemy got to snowball, they had a rageblade and I blamed everyone for feeding, my team holds me back in damn bronze I deserve better.

4/10 I tried too hard.

Imo, the only problem with Guinsoo is that it gives 2 stacks per melee auto attack. This is the only problem, this one thing gets abused so easily by champions with as steroids, champions with autoattack reset abilities, Devourer users etc. Other than that, as some of people suggested in this post, this item is horrible in very short skirmishes, it excels in long duels, so keep this in mind. Also, on lane, the AOE on hit means that Guinsoo user is automatically pushing they're lane if they maintain all 8 stacks and not wait for them to disappear while farming. That means that they are vulnerable to ganks.

I think that, if Riot makes it that melee auto attacks either charge 1,5 of a stack, or just 1 stack like ranged auto attacks, then this item won't be as problematic, as long as you know how to deal against someone who built it.

Maligaro Spike6 votes

the weakness is the need of ramp up,only in extended duels it's gonna be the 5k gold worth uber item,if you go for an extended trade vs a jax,xin or master yi you're doing something wrong

AL0002 votes

no matter you tried... jax or other can kill you under the turret and get away alive...

team might help you but cant babysit you 24/7... no matter what you try to tank it... only if you are using the champion that is hard counter to rageblade user...

Maligaro Spike4 votes

rageblade doesn't give you sustain so if they towerdive you it means you had lower hp or you can't fight back because you got a weak early game champ, rageblade users can't deal with quick burst from the likes of renekton

AL0002 votes

of course... but rageblade = BURST damage as dps... you will get killed under than 3 seconds if you didnt cc him first...

most of rageblade user is too arrogant and will kill you with utmost confident... as they thought rageblade is godmod item...

Spicy Rice1 votes

It kinda is, especially if its the first item. If you are using a champion that can use rageblade efficiently, literally no one can duel you at that point

Where are the RoA gold efficiency threads? Rageblade is garbage unless it is fully charged. RoA is good as soon as you get it and become ridiculous once it gets its stacks which never go away.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

well it takes time for ROA to get stacks while rage blade gets tons of stacks in a very fast amount of time.

It is only fast for melee champs and crit gear would actually be better for Jax and Xin if the game drags on. RoA's stacks don't go away and it is a better late game item. Really the problem isn't so much with Rageblade especially since they raised the cost. The problem is that Jax and only Jax scales too much off of it.

Rengar Jax XinZhao KogMaw too strong with rageblade :(

Rageblade is not a problem on Kog'Maw; it is the only thing that makes him viable at all. He is still soft as hell with no escape and it takes 8 hits for him to charge it. If you let him charge it before the fight it is your fault and even then you might still kill him. Xin is better off with crit gear against most champions. What scales off of ap in his kit is the passive heal(which won't do as much healing for you against other champions as warlord's) and his gap closer which he usually needs to use to enter the fight so all you have to do is stay out of its range right after he has attacked minions.

CasterGilgamesh1 votes

rod of ages doesn't give aoe Auto attacks or life steal once you reach a missing health thresh hold.....

LithiumWednesday2 votes

Guinsoos only does half of that. The other half got moved to item 3156

Gregor Gysi1 votes

Rageblad is alright with 3 stacks and overbearing with 8. RoA is an entirely different matter, why should we discuss it now? There is no way to argue that RB isn't OP. If you have a problem with RoA then go ahead and post a thread about it.

Dengeden5 votes

Gold efficiency is usually a pretty bad argument, sorry. You can use it to argue that Shaco has a good late game.

Rageblade has a pretty terrible build path, needs to stack up (=outplay potential) and offers no defensive stats.

Bladerunner77774 votes

Nice circlejerk post

You haven't said anything that nobody else has said before

The reason jax is OP is because he has rageblade, fervor, AND his passive so if he gets stacked you're dead

The solution? Fight when they're not stacked

Gregor Gysi1 votes

It's true that this is a circlejerk post. However, do you really doubt that RB is OP?

I think it has a clear weakness and there is some form of counterplay.

If anything just remove the aoe when full stacked because it seems kinda tacked on.

Most rageblade users have bad short trades so just take advantage of that and don't fight them when they're stacked

edit: also the ramp up might be too fast

Gregor Gysi1 votes

Just because it has counterplay it doesn't mean that it's balanced. RB is overtuned, that is a fact. The true question is how to nerf it. Riot is probably going to keep the stacking mechanic because it has so well-defined strengths and weaknesses, however it's obviously too strong right now.

Llanite4 votes

The problem is that, melee gets 2 stacks each hit, if hes also a jungler w/ sated = 8 stacks in 3 hits. Remove that and it'll be ok.

NegusInParis3 votes

Items usually do no come with clear weaknesses. It's not like an item increases attack damage and decreases you health

MunchCrunchLunch3 votes

it falls off late game where you need burst more than stacking. imo I get more burst from full ad crit jax than a hybrid jax with this. because it takes time for this to stack and the devoure to double up on hits

Hemulen Magi3 votes

This is a totally honest question... Does anyone have any evidence at all that Rageblade is legitimately overpowered? Or is this entirely a pointless circlejerk about a new item?

I wanted some actual data so I looked up a bunch of statistics on random items. I don't see Rageblade as an outlier.

Here a bunch of graphs for winrate and popularity for random items in league. I didn't cherry pick these to make any point. I just took screen shots of a variety of types of completed items used by a variety of different types of champs.

Rageblade looks like a strong, viable item, but it doesn't look like some sort of easy instant-win option for any champ. Why do people want to circle jerk until its nerfed into an nonviable item and gets removed from the game AGAIN?

AL0001 votes

winrate? decent viable? oh yeah popularity? oh yeah

What they could do: Make the base stats of the item higher, but make it so it stacks less or that it gains less benefits per stack.

Shahamut1 votes

Something else to remember, is that the presence of a decent rageblade has brought more champions out of the woodwork. Im a top lane main, and its nice to not see the same 3 champions every game.
